This game has been out for years, too bad it was Japanese only.

I love UW, but I'm skeptical of this, looks like a WoW grinding clone to me. I'll try it and I'll let you guys know what I think, if that matters.

@Moogie: Ah yes, Voyage Century Online, I was looking of the name of that game. I played that game in an attempt to satisfy my hunger for more Uncharted Water, but it didn't do so well. So if this is a clone of that, well...

EDIT: You know what? Never mind, install was corrupted, and I don't really want to download it again.

I will say that it doesn't look like it's anything like Voyage Century. Similar style, maybe, but you have two games set in the same era they're probably going to look a little bit similar. I never gave VC much of a shot though, surely not the 12+ hours I gave UWO, so I might have missed what you're seeing.

I think I probably chose the worst profession when I started... I selected Adventurer... and that's essentially nothing but fetch quests... They pay well, but geez they're boring. I can't even fight effectively outside of the newbie areas, so practically every fight, I might get one shot off if they're in range, and then I just run and hope I"m faster. I usually am, but sometimes they can shoot me from beyond my range and screw me over. I'm also getting this deck of cards I have no idea what I should be doing with except I think I can sell them to  certain people.

I loved adventuring in the old games, but I'd probably have been better off in the combat or trading professions.

I thought I would try playing this again...
Sadly I lost my account name and such so I can't go back to it. Had some unused cashshop points too if I remember. Ah well...

Gotta start from scratch...

I should have my AC left. My net is horrible though so I've spent about 24hours downloading, but I've paused every now and then to give my brither some ping.

I was a Maritimer with 30in maritime, and not so much more, since my friends decided to leave. Then I think I deleted him to try out a Trader, since I heard they got rich as hell...

Guess we will meet soon, everyone? ;D

Why would you delete the character? That's a lot of progress to lose. You can swap to any profession, and a high maritime level would definitely be useful for a trader to defend himself.

I just threw some lit dynamite at my starting survivor, grabbed his gold bar, tried killing some bees with it, got bored, threw a molotav at their hive, and now I'm in a fistfight with a bee.

Yeah I know, but I didn't know about that at that time, and I had misread the thing about traits/skills as level. It was about "Somewhere around 2" years ago(Hi Girlin, thanks for that. I remember I was around before the first expansion atleast :v), when my online virginity wasn't as wide-experienced. I'm still pretty dumb on some games, but that's just how I am :P

I think it's interesting how you did that 4 years ago, and UWO is in its "2nd Anniversary Event".  Silly Korean timekeepers!

Actually I don't know if it's Korean.  I just assume it is, because, what isn't?

I stopped doing the Intermediate school because it got boring and tedious. Now I'm just fumbling around and found out that I need something to land on ports outside northern europe.

Yeah, finishing Int School gives you permits for the rest of Europe, that part is very poorly done.

I think I'm on the advanced school. Any idea what the reward is for finishing that? Assuming I actually can.

Mostly cash, although it's quite a bit of cash!  Also a lot, I mean a LOT of experience.

Of note: As you visit ports, you'll get a card for each one you discover.  Head to your home port and talk to someone to deliver them.  In London, that's the Duckett Estate, or the palace.  When you turn them in, you get a tiny bit of exploration exp and gold, but you also get a Quest Mediation Permit.  When you take a quest you get 5 choices, and to get more choices you have to go to another town and come back.  A QMP will give you new choices instantly.  They sell for 300,000 with some patience.  I've sold enough to make ~7mil off them.  I'm going to splurge this money on Casting experience, so I'll be producing good cannons with some luck!

Well, I am going to go ahead and download it. This will be my first "grindy" MMO since I used to play Runescape years ago.

Learning the abbreviations is going to be painful.

Anyone know where to learn nordic? I'm trying to buy flax but I can't talk to the merchants and I don't want to waste my trip.

These two wikis contain most of the information there is to be had.

My in-game name is Karri.

I wanted to be named Curry but that's seems too silly and Kare is already taken.
