Looking waaay back in my post history, I stumbled upon a neat little thread that tasked the forum with telling the Hobbit's story in announcement messages, which turned out pretty funny, after some initial bumps caused by vague wording in the OP.

In any case, the idea was sound and it hasn't come up too often, and I kind of fell like doing it again. But instead of telling one story this time and trying to keep Bay 12 in line (not unlike herding particularly willful cats with nothing in the way of tools but a photo of a small dog) I think I'll do something different.
No timeline will be neccessary. If you've seen the "How did you die today?" thread, that's the kind of thread I'm looking for here. But with announcement messages. From other media. Both popular and slightly obscure.
It should be fairly simple. Here's an example, and my submission to the thread.
Zetsubou-Sensei, Teacher, cancels Hang Self: Interrupted by Genki Girl
The Spinning Optimism hits the Sensei in the head, bruising the skull and crushing the brain!
The Sensei is enraged!
The Kafuka is unaffected.
The Sensei has grown taller.[/b]
Also, remember to name the series you're picking the announcement messages from!
The colors as I understand them are in the spoiler below. Feel free to correct me or add something; I'm not flawless!
The font is Terminal, and the messages are Bolded
Red is for bad things, like seiges, job cancellations, and the discovery of male-pattern baldness... in a female dwarf. These would be RED!
Yellow is for contextual things that could be good or bad, depending on what you're doing. Named weapons are in this category, as are wet stone, Veins of ore, and pictures of the Scouts mother would be YELLOW!
Good things here! births, Birthdays, Parties, and the successful weaponization of Kitten tallow would be GREEN!
Is something dead? Probably, as this is the only time I've sen PURPLE used.
Other Colors Are for unique messages. Like Teal for adamantine. You probably won't need these.
