Oh my! At least, with the giant toad, this bat-family will keep the fortress insect population down. Maybe we can even train them for war.

Lol at the statue of Harper surrounded by Knuckle Worms that apparently he loves. Go figure.

Good job surviving the onslaughts this time.

Are you certain you're pulling out now, you've still got a couple of days, technically? Well, I'll send a PM to Overmind anyway.

I think they meant Old Man Winter, not Middle-aged Dwarf Winter.

Just looked at the save, and I see Overmind actually has a broken right arm, a broken left hand, and a broken left leg just as he's starting his tenure of the fort, lol. Bdak must have been feeling cruel to slap the badge on his bedside table at the hospital. :o

I'm thinking he's going to direct his year from the traction bench at this rate, which is actually quite hilarious.

So how many kills does Fishybang have?
Fishybang has 3 goblin kills, 3 louse men kills, and a black bear.

That area with the rock pick and the tower zone is really silly. I like it.

There's an incoming giant mosquito, and nothing in the fields.

EDIT: Might want to do something with all those !!hundreds!! of aboveground crop seeds, set a field inside the watchtower area for them etc. The dead marksdwarf needs a coffin ASAP as well, but otherwise everythings looking alright.

Silly in an awesome kind of way. Its exactly the kind of project I see Bdak doing, though.

It's an achievement to survive year 2 with only 1 dead dwarf, I'd say. Injuries heal... as I say it was just funny because it was specifically Overmind in traction.

Personal journal of Overmind, entry 4
I'm not going to lie and say things are alright and everything is fine. We may be still alive, but are situation is far more grim than I thought
I realized This after Bdak came trooping in to the hospital and placed The badge of leadership squarely On my bedside table, Apparently unaware of My current state of having my hand and one of my legs rendered useless which he was supposed to be treating.

But then I took a look around, limping all the way, with a few fellow dwarfs helping me along. I have lost some respect for Bdak, while we live in holes in the wall,a thing we all agreed to, he and his buddies the "Spiritual Spades" built themselves and avuz damned chapel! they're living in splendid rooms with there own dining tables! Oh well, that is the least of are problems.

Are dire drink problem is well on its way to be solved, But we have no food what so ever, and it seems that winter Just decided everyone would do everything, I think he was hung over when he said that.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Another problem came to my attention via Harper coming in telling me he still needed a mayor office. I told him i would look into it. I found the reason why. though the design of the living quarters is pretty clever, It has one major flaw there is barley any room to expand.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I managed to find one nook of space in the far left. But I have only one idea of getting Harper his office (under his room) but I'm worried about the feasibility of such a task and I plan to ask me fellow dwarfs about it. We also lost some one in the battle that disabled me, A las named Reg Died trying fend off a few goblin swords men with her crossbow, she managed to fight off one but another just... stabbed her from behind, she suffocated from her punctured lungs. we are preparing coffins for her and any future burials. Armok protect her soul.

In light of this I have started drafting up plans for extending are defenses, some dwarfs were already setting up traps but when I looked up the plans I noticed how randomly placed they were, It did not make sense to me so I ordered them to stop. will set up the cage traps in better positions later
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I plan to use some of that massive chapel Bdak just HAD to have for a grave yard, None shall be forgotten in LakeBones While I'm around
Nor Unavengend.

Okay I have some major issues to discuss

1.We need more food But labor is totally screwed.
2.Harper needs an office and we need more room.
3.Are health care is non existent, we need dedicated doctors,Bdak is too busy mining and not performing medicine.

My solutions are these:
Are food problem can be solved through fixing the labor, But I'll need to use dwarf therapist to even attempt that. Same thing with the healthcare problem, I grabbed a random gem dwarf with no job and told him to diagnose the patients as Bdak is to preoccupied.
I plan to build Harper's office beneath his room, But I'm worried about cave-ins, Can some one help me with that?
Are defensive problem is being handled, but with jobs totally screwed, nothing is getting done
Any suggestions?
