Since neither my own or GWG's turn seemed to mention if I made it to the HTI settlement for diplomacy...

I didn't? It's a destroyer armed with expert pirates sailing in clear weather. You did.

Right. I'll start the Diplo-RP then.

Mask picks up the Short Ranged Radio as the Delta Island with the HTI settlement comes into range. "This is Mask. I come in peace to discuss mineral rights. Send a diplomacy team to us via small boat, or invite us to dock please."'

"...Come over to the dock, if'n you wouldn't mind. Oh, and you're supposed to end transmissions with 'Over.' Over."

"Very well. I'll bring her around to dock. Looking forward to the meeting, over."

After carefully maneuvering his ship into position, Mask steps onto dry land and waits to be escorted to the meeting. He wears today a large bearskin coat and a visored medieval helmet with large decorative antlers attached. He is flanked by two raider bodyguards, but the rest stay aboard the destroyer.

The journal
"Our opponents are pathetic... How can someone organize defense so poorly? We could crush them in one decisive attack but maybe we can get them to surrender without any fight. Maya suggest exactly  that. Her surrender conditions are way to mild to my tastes but it may work, stable tribute can help us prosper. On other hand our little camp becoming even more comfortable. I decided to let her try that, because I'll never risk my soldiers for stupid peace negotiations

Stuff same as last turn
100 huntresses (bows and spears) and 100 soldiers (Laser guns) [Hunting]
100 female slaves [Gathering]
100 soldiers [Guard]
100 crafters + 200 female slaves [Civilian economy]

New orders
100 female slaves: Food processing. That includes producing oil and\or alcochol for the generator
100 male slaves, 100 female slaves: Gathering wood, building wooden huts and a fence
100 soldiers (armed as before): Siege enemy camp, don't let anyone come out. Shoot on sight
Not listed here: rest
____________________
After few weeks of siege send 25 unarmed female slaves to the city as an embassy (including plot important Maya) to negotiate surrender terms. Choose females with relativities so they could know that betrayal is a bad option. Would prefer to role-play the negotiations (as Maya) if the embassy will not get killed on sight

War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.

Phil greets them, then adds, "For future reference, at the end of a conversation you're supposed to say, 'Over and out.' Out of curiosity, where did you get the bear?"

Mask laughs. "Not sure exactly. Pretty sure its actually fake. I want to say one of my men took it off a House Argonian snob who was dumb enough to leave their little corner of the ship a few years back... but I could be wrong about that. I like the look. Now then, do you have an office or something? Or are we just going to have our talk here in front of any of your underlings who want to come gawk at my boat?"

"Sure. I have an office." Phil leads this strangely-garbed man there, then say, "Want something to drink? Water? Synthetic milk? Low-quality alcoholic beverage resembling beer? Juice?"

"Just water please. Synthetic milk is disgusting, and booze and diplomacy don't mix very well I'm afraid."

Mask picks a chair and leans back. "To business then. Our little landmass has mineral wealth. How do we go about splitting and exploiting the resources?"

The admiral drums his fingers upon the table. "For now I'd suggest we focus on digging and hoarding aluminum. Neither of us want to fight a land war against the Marines or Argonians. If we have any sense at all we will both focus on creating a navy and perhaps an airforce. Aluminum is good for foil-boats and planes. I propose a joint aluminum stockpile for now. We use it to back our currency, and split it up as we see fit when we are ready to start military development."

"Something like that could be arranged. However, 'joint' implies that both of us would be able to draw from it. What would you contribute to convince me to allow you to do so? I already have a mining camp--will you send capital or labor there, perchance? Or do you have some other bargain to propose?"

"I have also sent guys to start on the Aluminum. I'm shocked they haven't bumped into each other. That said in the long run the job might be better off for your larger population. Perhaps I can work on the copper once things get set up. Thats just for wiring, so we wont need as much; or as many people digging it out."

"Ah, I see. So we share a camp and share the output? That agreement is acceptable. It would allow a lesser total expenditure of capital and a greater exploitation of economies of scale. Now, was there anything else you wished to discuss, or just mining rights?"
