I'm bumping this mostly because while this was several months ago, because I realized something about #2 just now. Treant wouldn't be flying at the enemy army as momentum would remain the same, and thus the projectile would slow down extremely quickly. Air resistance too.

But I do wish this would live again. If only we were the god of undeath.

You are assuming that momentum and not velocity remains constant. Given that the situation in question involves a violation of conservation of mass, we can't make any assumptions based on physics.

Not necessarily. It could be gaining mass from the water vapor in the air, just as plants in the ground gain mass from the water and nutrients in said water, rather than the actual soil.

Or it could be 100% magic, in which case we're at square 1.

The only way to be sure is to try it out.

Hmmm. Energy is matter, and magic is energy, thus there could technically be conservation of mass even if it's just magic.

But then again, they could have the first thing it does is create a leaf parachute, or simply say 'I'm a god fuck you ballista bolt' and make it stop.

I forget why it matters.
