It's an inanimate object; we literally cannot recruit it. Attempting to do so will probably just alert the robot to our presence. Even if we did, somehow, roll to recruit the loot, we'd probably fail, since I doubt they want to be stolen; even if we somehow not only got a roll but also succeeded, what the hell would we do with the new allies? They're inanimate objects! Unless you're suggesting that the loot is a bunch of oppressed mimics, the whole idea is just silly.
