Oh nice catch.

I checked the chiefs robes just now since they were covered all over with the letters, but all I could make out was complete gibberish since we can't see all of it. It doesn't help that the letters on the robe were mirrored for some reason, and of course really tiny.

Turns out the mirroring was because it was a reuse of a sprite used for the chief a whileways ago

...it seems curvature is still an issue here T_T. Probably some letters being mixed up because of tinyness too. Not to mention H and P apparently are only distinguishable based on the curve of the arm.

We need to use Rifleshift

You should be afraid to dream a little big bigger dear, I say we try to Grenadelaunchershift it instead.

(After all shifting the soul star was a free action right? Or did it took soul charge?)

I know we already use our life juice to shoot at people, but is it really a good idea to do the same thing with out soul?

Spoiler: Count (click to show/hide)
Quote
Ciro: Shoot Hellyfish with Shotgun (Melee): +TopHat, +GWG, +Elephant Parade (3)
Al: Mangle Hellyfish with Bartering Ram (Melee): +TopHat, +GWG, +Elephant Parade (3)
Cherish: Stand in front of Al and Ciro, Guard (Melee): +TopHat, +GWG, +Elephant Parade (3)
Cherish: Retrieve ring from Ripriver: +Monk12, +GiglameshDespair (2)
Goom-bess: Scan Ripriver (Long): +TopHat, +GWG, +Monk12 (3)

Everyone's levitation wears off.

(Attack: 10-2 Position) (Attack: 16-2 Position, 2+1 Damage) (Attack: 16+4 Position, 1 Damage)
Al swings his Bartering Ram, but it's not meant to be swung so close! He misses and knocks you off-guard just as you let off your shots. The Decoagulator bullets bounce off the Hellyfish in an arc! Ripriver slaps the Hellyfish with his staff, but it's ineffective. Cherish guards.

Goom-bess is too far away to scan Ripriver.

(Grab: 16) The Hellyfish grabs Cherish, and the plant spits acid into the air!

(Acid: 4) (Acid: 1) Acid pools around the plant, scalding your feet.

Goom-bess observes the acid-spitting plant for any information she might need to Tattle on it.

We need to use Rifleshift

Apparently, that doesn't work.

Hey, guys. I've got a reason for going to retrieve slog! If we go there, we can bloodshape a shiny new whatever while we're up there!
We can make a skill, perhaps.

Edit: Have everyone except floating guy run away. Floating guy can float, so he won't be harmed by the acid.

Edit: WAIT NO MURDER HELLYFISH BEFORE CHERISH DIES

I think that each Soul Star only has Two Shifts.

One of the tips mentioned they have a Primary use and a Secondary use.

So Al might be able to Shift his Soul Star... you know... if he had it.

Edit: Ecco might be a reference to "The Voice". The act title implies that will be dealing with Sinful (Cain) and Speaker (referring to the Voice).

Does the limited checkpoint count incoming teleports as well as outgoing?

that sounds like something you could test by teleporting

Oh, you.

AL: EXPERIENCE CONCERNED FATHERLY RAGE
+1

Cherish: Avoid turning this into a deadly manga. Escape in a decidedly non-manga-like style!
Al: Retreat to a slightly longer range, barter the Hellyfish!
I can't see how this could be interpreted in a bad way.
Ciro, Ripreaver: Attack again!
Goom-Bess: Approach to maximum scanning range, scan.

Well, looks like I got ninja'd by the update, but I would like to mention that the reason we were taking on the Hellyfish from medium range was because that's the range our OWN weapons work. It has 14 HP (10 now,) we can win a DPS race with it. Trickier now, for obvious reasons.

Cherish: Guard on the theory the constrict attack is supposed to be weak, and she has the fancy hat in addition to the Knight rubric
Ciro: Medium range, Shotgun attack
Al: Medium range, Bartering Ram attack
- get both of them out of the acid pool
Goombess: Scan Ripriver - it's okay if this brings her a bit closer, the Hellyfish is likely to focus on Cherish and the plant doesn't seem to have long-range abilities. Besides, we may need her to MultiStomp to finish this fight.

I'm pretty sure there was another image from the void, but I can't remember when/where.

The lights in this one seem to match Proxxy Yellow and Angel Brown...

While looking I noticed the Scarecrow was an image of a Seraph... 6 wings and had Angel Brown as its body color... but the head was more Human Skin White and not Angel Skin Grey.

So I noticed something. Yaos's soul star was called the "Insolvent Thaumaturge". A Thaumaturge is someone who can work miracles, while insolvent means that they can't pay debts owed. Yaos was capable of creating SP and HP restoring gems, which would be rather useful, and one could call it a miracle. Doing this, though, caused him damage- A debt of blood, if you will. He was able to create amazing things, but the debts owed were too much for him, and killed him.
