...right, can we pov switch to slog at some point? that +1 to cathedral tier is interesting, it could either allow the party to go to lv0 without breaking the game or get some crazy shit at the last

It's tier as, in Mercenary tier.

As in, fusing mercenaries into better mercenaries.

We do need to go to DL0 at some point, though.

In Nethack, for instance, you spawn on DL1, on the stairs that leads up, out of the dungeon. If you take the stairs, you lose, on account of quitting the dungeon and running away.

Yeah, but in Nethack the main goal is to get the amulet and then leave. In Warrens it was explicitly stated that nobody leaves the Warrens when they become part of it. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try to get to Haria, though.

I always considered it just a lesser way to win. You know, because it describes you as escaping the dungeons.

Going to DL0 sounds interesting. It would be nice to get back to old-fashioned video game tropes.

It's not exactly winning, seeing that the main plot of Nethack is you walking into the dungeon to get the Amulet of Yendor in the first place.

Calling walking into the dungeon and then walking out a "win" is like calling walking into a mall and then immediately out "shopping".

Sadly, Slog is not an option on the influx.

He probably would be if we got a Binding and turned him into a Non-Illborn.

That is a worthy goal for the future.  For now, we must auntie up.

1. If you just hop out the first chance you get, that's dumb. If you can figure out when to retreat and do so...well, it's better than just dying down there.
2. Like I said, lesser kind of winning.
3. I'd almost rather enter the Dungeons of Doom than spend a substantial amount of time shopping, mall or otherwise.

Ugh. Both to the sentiment and to the pun.

You know... I wonder why FFS taunted us with that fake binding get...

Or was it fake?

it could be that the time in the Void flows much more differently in the Warrens, and the OS uses this to make it seem like a dream after kicking us out, because we were alone.

I mean, if it could kick us out, why can't it remove a trivial item from our inventory?

I expect that it was a flashback; we've gotten bindings in past lives. So now we kinda have an idea of where the bindings are; they're hanging out in the blackest of voids, possibly the black space between dungeon levels. We don't really know how to get there, though, apart from possible ladder shenanigans.
