Dwarf fortress animation - forlorn haunt

A short story about poor Dodok who disappeared during early winter until he came to haunt the fortress as a forlorn ghost. This animation was done by my brother who, too, was inspired by this little story that happened in my game, right after the game version which introduced ghosts. It was such a memorable moment when I found out the carvings and statues dwarves started to make when they finally found the miner's body from a channel - his remains were carried by water from outside to deep channels that led water to underground farms.

I placed this statue - which can be seen at the end of video - to the main hall in order not to forget his fate (and usage of that dangerous ice-road was forbidden, of course).

Gritty animation style fits DF well in my opinion.

Maybe we could export Yuli: "Succession fortress too stable? Too boring? Just get our Yuli VlasiTM!"

He (RiqCrow is his nick) used EZToon to make short animation clips and combined those together by using Youtube's editor, which he also used for adding voice layers.

As a pixel artist, I may have to try this out. I like his minimalist style.

It has just enough detail to be beautiful, while still leaving much to the imagination. Brilliant.

Ah, sorry about this error in previous post. He used mainly windows movie maker 2.6 for connecting animation clips and adding sounds. For some reason I misunderstood this when he described the process.

Very well done, surprisingly moving (thanks in part to the well chosen music).  Your brother should keep up the good work!

Hey, I almost missed this, and what a shame that would be. Great work.
