Will a werebeast in human form make me a werebeast?

Just tested to be sure (bite with cut apart skin and muscle, latched firmly), it doesn't. They need to be in werebeast form to infect you.

Another question, I read some werebeasts are less powerfull than humans, how can I know if the werebeast I am trying to get contagied from is a good one?

Right now it is a weremangoose, Ill do it anyway since I am roleplaying a cripled character who hates werebeasts but is to proud to remain cripled.

You can look up the raws of your world werebeast curses in world.dat. They're all minimum size 80000, so slightly larger than a human (70000), the powerful ones are those huge sized and/or hooved.
Weremongooses are nothing special, but still grant full regeneration once a month, you may go for it if it fits your character.

Tried wordpad but got the same.

Searching I read I should edit a init file for saves not to be compresed in order to get readable dat files (if I understud correctly) but I cant find said init file.

It's data/init/init.txt, [COMPRESSED_SAVES:NO] at the very end of the file. I take it that you have a backup copy of the folder just in case your save might get corrupted.

managed to do it. No didn´t had a backup but everything seems fine. Ill learn to backup later.

Now the thing is I don´t know how to interpret the raws, most things are in ranges and I don´t understand all of the tags. But its ok, Ill research form myself sometime. Thank you very much for your time.
