Map Help - Genesis

Well I recently have downloaded Genesis since the original DF in my opinion lacked variety so I decided to spice it up a bit with Genesis but when I made an adventure mode character it seems that when I'm traveling I do not have the box on the right side telling me in towns the certain shops, wells, sewers, markets, etc. In that area. I'm also wanting to install SoundSense on Genesis but I'm confused. Will someone please help me?
