How do you delete a nickname?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I added several random numbers on my guy's nickname, and now I can't get rid of them.

The same way you add them, just backspace everything.

You should be able to customize to something else.
DFHack also has something that changes names if that doesn't work.
