Consider this: Gregor and Derick have a duel with same quality weapons (Iron, for example) and in neutral conditions (no terrain, supports and so on). On whom you would bet?

Derick the Swordmaster of Doom
Gregor the Tanky Stab-Sentinel

The maptool did not exactly "fail", the problem was the timezone, but the sessions were fun.

Why remove Levitate though, unless we're not going to be visiting any deserts?

Because my maps use Cliffs/Rivers to impose boundaries - with Levitation, you could easily bypass them, which makes First Classes with Levitation a little too powerful for tactical planning :P
They should still be able to move freely through sand anyway. It is already explained ingame as either their clothing being less cumbersome or their magic just pushing the shand out of their way.

Also I disapprove against all and any nerfs against my person :V

I also move that magic using classes (except Troubadors, maybe) gain a special ability that allows them free movement through desert squares.

There's no deserts on the FEF continent.

UNREALISTIC

I don't think South America or Europe have any deserts, right? Not that unrealistic. Unless there are lots of high mountain ranges, in which you would expect at least a couple.

Edit: As for places I might expect deserts, Deynastia is a good candidate, as is the Ys Duchy.

Mountains too low for that v:

But okay, Ys Duchy is kinda rocky/sandy plains. Not that you will be getting there anytime soon :P

EDIT: Sssssmall FEF Fluff update;

As far as tactics go, henry should go left against the knight, Dan should go up for the chests, Ami to the left for the much needed healing against the mage, Adrien up to break down the walls. That leaves me, Derrick, Gregor and Charlotte. Charlotte should be of more help in the cramped upper route, Gregor can try and tank the mage on the left route. I guess I go up then since that's closer for me, leaving Derrick for left.

It wasn't so much of a failure as it was a inconvenience for most involved.

The idea worked, and would work if everyone were on the same continent/time-zone, but as there are people all over the world on the internet, it does not seem very practical.

I wasn't there, and can't exactly attest to it's fun-ness, but it most likely worked in every other factor almost flawlessly.

I may suck, but at least I don't blow.

At least try not to engage anybody in the room until we got the chests cleared.

All I need with me to get the treasure is Charlotte. There's gonna be a one-tile chokepoint and she activates my personal skill.
