Gregor might be minor nobility, but he is a soldier. Who's been living in a barracks with a bunch of other soldiers. What do you think they'd discuss, how shiny the armor is?
I figured they'd talk about hair spikes and armor dye.
Or perhaps the urban legend that having naturally blue hair will cause the universe itself to bend around in order to keep you alive.
