Consider this: Gregor and Derick have a duel with same quality weapons (Iron, for example) and in neutral conditions (no terrain, supports and so on). On whom you would bet?

Derick the Swordmaster of Doom
Gregor the Tanky Stab-Sentinel

Derick should head back to wagon, spend some time with Raquel, knowha'Imsayin?
I support (hah!) this.

They would go in the wagon, if anywhere. :P Raquel can come out and hang with the rest of us - or just Derick, whichever.

Inside the armor, clearly.
I'm reminded of a quote from Alyx in Half-Life 2 Episode 1:
"Got room for two in there?"

Is that actually how staffs are made in FE lore?

I don't recall it coming up in any of the games I played...

Well, I'll be honest, he's good at making shit up then.

I've played Fire Emblem and I nearly took what Edwin said as fact.

Yeah, to be honest, that's kind of exactly what how I imagine it worked. Otherwise you'd have explanations like the Awkward Zombie one for tomes running out :P

Well, it just sounded good to me, given what I know about FE, and I was kinda tired about not having much to talk about IC. I was also wondering, just what the hell are in those tomes we cast from, and I just came up with something that sounded about right given game mechanics and ingame history.

Thanks for the compliment!

I always thought that you put magic in the crystal/wood (staves) or in the letters (tomes) and as you use the magic, it just runs out from the crystal/script and the stuff becomes useless v:

That's why you have spell Tomes; each page is the same spell because each page means one use :v
