Really, with Salvatore, Alex has less reason to not be in the front line considering Sal's Aircraft Carrier status.

Really, Alex can go four ways with his supports (and since he is Guardbased, supports are pretty integral)
Salvatore and Alex can go aircraft carrier, though that doesn't put a lot of use into guard- yet gives Alex a good bit of mobility.
Gregor and Alex can go invinciblewall4ever- shield wall plus guard making alexander absolutely terrifying. He won't be able to go many places though.
Alexander and Anja can... I dunno, ship. shiiiiips. Only real reason for that, besides maybe if they start trying to swarm the wagon.
Charlotte could hide behind Alexander and shoot everything.
