The trouble with Norwegian politics is that nothing has a correct name: Our Conservatives are liberal. The Left party is right wing. The Labour party isn't. And the Progress Party stands for taking a step backwards.

This was a great piece about Cameron's referendum. I can see what he did here, but overall I think it was a great mistake. Any referendum would be interesting though. Sure, most of the establishment would back a "Stay in the EU", but as France shown, this can actually be counter-productive.

It's also a total flip-flop over his position of six months ago.

As for the EU's buying people on the internet... That's annoying. It's not going to fix the EU image problem. That problem is caused by government that negociate treaties in Brussels and then complain to their electorate about the evi EU forcing things on them. In a way, that's the worse with the current set-up that put so much power in the Council. Not only is the EU opaque, it's actually helping government be less transparent about what they do.

Do "European Politics" include political events happening in Eastern European countries which are not EU member states?
