After a brief bit of Arena, I have proved that a Puertasaur can take out a Bronze Colossus (as it should be, for something a 6th of a Puertasaur's size), and that a Puertasaurus corpse (after being bruised by a Colossus and slain by another Puertasaur) gives:
1432 bone
1 tooth
2607 meat
1 skin
1 skull
129 brain (probably need to fix that, so it's only about 3 brain or something)
1 nervous tissue
128 kidney
64 spleen
64 sweetbread
129 tripe
129 liver
389 intestine
64 heart
258 lung
1 nose cartilage
6 eye meat
739 fat

And thats why we cant have nice things. Like dinosaurs.

You mod games in order to reach the limit of a game and its engines possibilities, I SAY YAY TO DINOSAURS AND NAY TO NOT HAVING THINGS.

So much food from one dinosaur isn't really a worry. It involves going up against a whole herd of giant muddabeepers that will ignore you if you leave them alone, but will start murdering you with attacks far stronger than a dragon to the face if you try to kill them. A Puertasaur can take on a Bronze Colossus and win, fairly easily.

And that is why it now has [TRAPAVOID]. Although if you had good aim and an ability to lure one, you could probably fling it into a pit with a bridge and get the same effect...

Just checked, and estimated (from a sperm whale) you could feed a fortress for over 4 years with a single Puerta's corpse. So a whole herd of them could (with an average-sized herd of adults) feed a fortress for 48 years... That's longer than Boatmurdered, for sure.

You cannot raise bridges when large creatures are standing on them. You can use grates, but it requires much more preparation and they can still dodge to the side when its opened.

if all the meat comes in stacks, yes. If you have too many individual items, then it will rot before dwarves can stockpile it.

Alright. I had a stranded whale years ago and I thought just about everything rotted before they could put it in barrels/pots, glad they have changed that.

Okay, guys. I'm working on making an entire group of fauna for the desert, and I've added a wild environment to Protoceratops, as well as made a new domesticatable Therezinosaurus and Prenocephale, and a domesticated Shuvuuia that only hunts/eats vermin that are insects, as well as any carnivore-friendly food left in the open. The rest of the list (in the form of Wikipedia article spam) are, in order of when I'll probably make them:
Saurolophus
Velociraptor
Mononykus
Tarbosaurus
Deltatheredium
Oviraptor
Citipati
Barsboldia
Tarchia
Nemegtosaurus
Opisthocoelicaudia (Urist McDinolover likes Opisthoceolicaudia for their absurdly long and complicated names)
Saurornithoides
Rinchenia
Nomingia
Gallimimus
Bagaraatan (tyrannosauroid)

GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THEM.

How long, theoretically, could this sustain a fortress of 200 dwarfs with infinite booze (assuming no one has children or is a noble)?

By my calculations that is 4706 edibles assuming you have your dwarves cook the fat into the meat (which of course they would!)

Dwarves eat about twice a season, so that haul should last 11.7 seasons, or damn close to three years!  That is a lot of Puertasaurus roasts.

Three years seems like a reasonable amount of meat from the largest non-giant creature in the game.

Now, if I decided to make a giant Puertasaurus...

Once I've done the desert, Puerta might get a bunch of crocodilians and an abelisaur to go with it. All these dinosaurs are going to be FUN!

After looking at a sheep, it seems that the volume is roughly a quarter of the weight. I'mma go edit the sizes now!
Actually, screw that, I'm too lazy.
