Why are my high boots on my hands?
« on: March 17, 2013, 04:45:54 pm »

So I started adventure mode and managed to purchase to copper high boots. No matter what I try my boots just end up on my hands.

I'm standing in town and I've tried:

Removing my sandals, taking my high boots out of my bag. They end up on my hands.
Ok, drop my boots, drop my sandals, pick up my sandals. Then end up on my hands.
Ok, maybe I need to remove my loincloth and dress for some reason. Drop them. Pick up my Sandals, They end up on my hands.
Ok... I do like being naked. Pick up my loincloth and dress... HANDS?!

What am I missing here?

I'm missing the 'w'ear command. For some reason I thought it was like weapons... OMG....

I'm imagining it right now. A hapless adventurer bends down and puts his hands into a pair of copper high boots, rightens himself and can't figure out why there are boots on his hands, bends down, takes them off, and then proceeds to do the same thing twice again.

An adventurer slips his feet into some boots. He laces them like normal, and when he tries to open the door he finds that his boots are on his hands.

This deserves a place of honour in the Facepalms thread.  Thanks.

Reminds me of going to Red Wings with my girl and seeing some work gloves. "Look, they have hand shoes, too!"

In her defense, in German the word for "glove" translates literally as "Hand-Shoes" ("Handschuhe")

Nonono, you say "Gesundheit" after someone sneezes, which we visualize as "Hatschi".

Thanks for posting this. Gave me a little giggle.

Anyway, don't feel bad when you don't understand something about this game. It took me ages to figure out myself.
