Fire imp civilzation help

I can control the imps as adventurers, but somehow I can't build a fortress with them. They also don't show up at their sites, the caves are abandoned and frequently have cavern critters in them. I also want to see if I can use cavern creatures instead of regular livestock.

If I would have to guess, you would have to change    [DEFAULT_SITE_TYPE:CAVE]. In Adventure mode, no civilizations show up unless they are in towns, in witch case they will show up like humans will.

Although he did say he couldn't build fortresses with it. I've looked through his code and there's nothing clearly wrong, although as I have no easily accessed point of comparison I can't tell.

He can't build a fortress because of the cave thing, possible. He has  [INDIV_CONTROLLABLE], which means he can only play as an outsider. It is possible that since there are so few caves, the race just gets whipped out.

Hm...Kobolds can build fortresses even with cave on. I think it was in Kobold Camp anyway.

Kobold fortress id made so kobolds can live past worldgen. Here, they all die, probably. How many times have you noticed kobolds in a normal fortress?

That is how it is supposed to work, I didn't see your [Adventure tier] thing that lets you play as someone from the fortress.

Are you sure it isn't working properly? If you can go adventuring, you should be able to build a fortress. Please describe how you are unable to do it. Have you tried scrolling through the home civs?

I did try scrolling through the civs, but the blue highlighted "homes" were always dwarven mountainhomes, never caves.

Try again, this time tabbing over to the thing that tells you what civs are nearby. See if Dwarf is on top on all of them.

Yes, Dwarf is on top for all the civilizations. Fire Imp is listed nowhere.

Just for fun, I embarked on top of a cave (they are all revealed). The startup is laggy, and when I scroll over to the cave I am greeted with quite a sight - a horde of imps, 1009 strong. Seems the imps are not extinct after all.

EDIT: Turns out, those were just the ones I could see. The actual horde is 2229, including a queen and a general. The mass even stretches off the map, as the cave is in the corner of the embark (the cave is also in the corner of the map square).

Psh, I tried your thing out myself, and it just turned them all into Giant Cave spiders. Must have something duplicated in my mod.

I still think you should try changing it to city, and see if that works out better, or at least fortress.
