Blunt the sharp hooks on the sword. Wouldn't want anybody to get hurt, after all. If the blade is sharp once more, blunt that as well.

Practice using the improved sword for nonlethal disarmament with my fellow warriors.

Finally, interview a beggar or a criminal on their view of the world, their place in it and their goals in life, listening with the utmost attention to their answers. Buy them a drink afterwards.

Ganji spars with some of his fellow warriors to blow off steam. (hidden) He manages to win most of the fights, save for a few where he made mistakes he realized fairly quickly. Left with a good feeling about his nation and himself in general, Ganji decides to go on an extra patrol.

Ganji meets up with a scout from Kiboukoro, who seems suprisingly unarmed. Drawing his blade, the scout immediately surrenders...

"Wah! Wait a sec, mister Samurai! I'm not here on purposes of war!"
Although he was ready to strike, Ganji lowered his weapon. The only thing that kept him from striking was that, although he'd attack a messenger, and attack a female, he wouldn't attack a female messenger. That was just too low.

"Then why are you here?"
"To deliver a diplomatic message to your Lord. Please... If you won't let me pass, at least take this message to your Lord!"
"I'll let you come with me. I do not fully trust any of the other Lords with the current situation-"
"Understandable, mister Samurai. Even if war hasn't broken out yet..."

Ganji returned with the messenger, and immediately brought her to his Lord, Keikentaiyou. He held his blade unsheathed the entire time, ready to strike if this messenger he had found turned out to be something deadlier...

The messenger bowed with Ganji, as Keikentaiyou responded to the new presence.
"And who might you be, miss?"
"Diplomatic messenger. I have a message for you, uhh, sir, is that right?"
"Sir is fine."
"Yes. Here is your message, sir, directly from Lord Kiboukoro. He wanted me to return with an idea of how well you take the contents of the letter..."

The messenger nervously shifted from foot to foot.

"Hmm... What your Lord says is correct. These terms... are not unreasonable, but tell Kiboukoro that I will send a letter with a list of... compromises that must be made."

"Sir."

With that, the messenger bowed once more and left.

"Ganji."
"My Lord."
"That was good thinking, returning with the messenger. Assassination attempts... they will come."
"Thank you, my lord."

Spoiler: Shinnyuusha (click to show/hide)

Shinnyuusha goes to market with his free time, looking amongst stores with varied reputations. After purchasing various new weaponry and items, Shinnyuusha begins training more than ever- he won't lose again. Not again.

Shinnyuusha finally quits training as the sun sets- he feels better, but his resentment for the Mitsurii Lordship grew with every attack he trained with.

Reina immediately returns from guard duty and bursts through the doorway to her Lord's chambers.
"Lord Funsaikido!"
Barely fazed by this, Lord Funsaikido himself a loud and boisterous person, he welcomed Reina. Reina was one of the few Samurai under his command he could remember.

"I have something for you! Here!"
Reina handed over the bunches of rare flowers she found, noticing for the first time their sweet smell. No wonder they were so valuable...
"Ah, you found these on patrol? This is a very good day! Come back here in two or three hours, and I'll return your gift! How does tea sound?"
Reina happily accepted, before suddenly remembering she was supposed to bow. Funsaikido chuckled to himself and dismissed Reina. "You needn't be so polite, you know, it's not a diplomatic mission or anything!"

Afterwards, Reina tried to find ways to pass the time while waiting for a few hours. Deciding to train, she practiced on some straw dummies, as most other samurai were either out on patrol or had already heard of her "training." She wondered if that guy was still in the medical ward.

After tiring herself, Reina figured she still had time she needed to wast- err, use. She wandered about her lordship's market, finding some nice ricecakes and some kind of soft, chewy candy... After all, patrols cut into lunch.

Returning to Funsaikido's office, she sees him with a group of nobles and a fresh, steaming cauldron-ful of tea.
"Ah, it's Reina! You found the flower for the tea, you should join us!

So, Reina attempted to put on her best "I am not somewhat ADHD and can be completely noble and polite" face and joined the group.

Won't strike women who aren't armed. Think of it as levels of innocent: if it's only moderately innocent, it can be sworded. A lot.

Also, it's not LSTea. It's not that potent.

Hajime, hungry after his patrol, went outside to get some udon. Nothing too fancy, even when he could afford it- there wasn't any reason in it, aside from eating something different every so often. While munching away, Hajime watched those around him and tried to profile them and their actions: The results?
Bald, short old man: (4) "Will probably order some kind of meat, to go, and chat for a while before leaving." This turned out to be true.
Young, pretty woman: (2) "Will order something small and sit alone, possibly waiting for someone else." This turned out to be false, as she didn't order, and met up with some friend she seemed to know well.
Other, unfamiliar Samurai (6) "Will probably order way too much and be loud, boastful."
This was mostly true, as the large man sat and immediately ordered in a boisterous voice. However, it turned out that, while ordering enough food for three people, he hadn't eaten in three days because he got stuck in enemy territory.

Afterwards, Hajime tended to his miniature garden. Indoors and about one armspan by two, it was amazing the kind of plants he grew here. Most of them, of course, were the same: golden-leafed Kaidan, used to make a potent healing salve. Next to it, however, was the tall and purple-ish Li Shao Ku, a foreign and incredibly toxic flower. Smiling, Hajime gave the deadly plant water, careful not to come into direct contact with the petals.
