Hello there, just relaying this from RPS (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/05/01/cthulhu-smashes-the-world-stonehearth).

So here's another DF cryptograndchild via minecraft, sibling of Towns et al., and a promising one at that.

You guide your settlers on a random-gened world, rendered in cute voxel based 3D. You'll collect ressources, build cities and craft stuff, occasionally fend off goblins invaders. You know the drill .

Inside the randomgenning there'll be "modules" that will be scripted content with npcs with their own agenda and AI to see it done. The clever plan is to allow players to mod in their own modules and easily share them with others through a system built in the game.

This and GIANT CUTEBLOCKY VOXEL CTHULU. There I said it. Or we could also say sort of MEGABEASTS IN MINECRAFT if minecraft was a citybuilder.

Just imagine the possible deluge of your-favorite-megabeast themed modules we could churn out.

Go watch the trailers and screenshot cuz I can't embed images for sh*t.

edit: oh, forgot the KS link : http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1590639245/stonehearth

The video is pretty cool too. The animations are nice, can't really explain it.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

cute voxel based 3D
:(
pictures
:'(
Terrible
What's so terrible about it? I think the graphics look really nice, especially with the moddability they have in mind (aka creating new creatures/things isn't very hard)

oh nothing, it's just that i have a deep personal hatred for animu graphics

and the minecraft 'voxel' style is really getting old, i'm tired of new games trying to copy it

Is this a rename of Timber & Stone, or completely unrelated?

The japanese sprites style must be changed. otherwise, the game looks great.

Being that I'm a perfectly straight man who is secure enough in his masculinity, I have to say, that Rancher guy looks sexy as hell.

In the top picture there... is that goddamned elephant in that pen?
Oh god, cute retro-looking voxels and anime-esque sprites, it's like this game was made for me.

$15.

I'm going to have to find money somewhere.

oh god a kitten companion for $30 that's not fair ;_;
My thoughts as exactly as possible.
