Inside the box is nothing. No bottom, no walls to the sides of it, nothing except rain pellets falling into the darkness. Suddenly a cane springs from it, and wraps around the collar of Stephen's shirt, before pulling him towards the darkness it birthed from.

Stephen grabs onto the edges of the box, and tries to slip out of the cane's grasp.
