I was a wizard the first time I played 4E, and I loved it. I'm sure you will do fine (focus on controlling, ie debuffing/messing with, whatever we are trying to kill is my advice).

Also, I'm thinking of making a battlemind... Thoughts?

I'm not too familiar with it, mainly because I'm not fond of the Psionic Augmentation stuff, but feel free to if you want. From what I understand, they make great tanks.

I just realized something.

We're supposed to be like normal people in the modern world, aren't we?
Modern, with some postmodern twists. Alien species aren't a rare sight, per se. Contact was established 25 years in the past.
Ah. So Dragonborn are okay?

And are there firearms?

Dragonborn are fine. There will be firearms, but you won't immediately have access to them.

Where are we starting so I can make my backstory make sense.

You will be starting as a civilian living in southern Nevada.

Alien tech to start, although magic will start being a thing shortly into the campaign.

For the HP boxes, put the number, not 15+CON.

Have you seen my first-level powers? The most basic thing fires balls of chaos energy that can hit multiple foes :P

I just realized that I had forgotten to add the Half-Elf's bonuses to CHA and CON :P

For the sling, use DEX. All ranged weapons use DEX unless it's Heavy Thrown or you have a feat/class feature that says otherwise.

Power points work like so: You get 2 at level 1. Before an encounter, you can choose what power(s) you want to augment with them. When you take a short or extended rest, they reset. You would put your current/total power point counts in class features.

This chart is handy.

Also, kj1225, your character background is great and will work perfectly with the story.
