Heh, I'll wait for a good time to reintegrate into the group as well.

Psst, just how badly stuck is Thales?
Mentally or physically?

...Seriously what would that taste like, I figure crystal probably tastes like rock candy, with rocks being more a sort of meaty-to-bread or a sort of hearty flavor, jewels and gems probably like candy kicked up a few notches depending on rarity and monetary value, so I guess it would probably taste like a sort of sharp rock candy kinda flavor maybe with zest due to the magical-inclined nature it has...
OH-uh-huh, just give me a moment, yeah, I'll get a reply out shortly.

Or it could taste like LIGHTNING BOLT! Because magic-on-contact.

I'm starting to lean more towards a sharp cheese sort of flavor. I don't really need to decide until the post though, I suppose.

Also, mildly surprised Daeth didn't speak in Arnum's cult language. Sure fire way to prove your devotion, really.

I don't know what his one specific cult speaks. I might be able to speak it, but I don't know which language he uses in specifically.

Knowledge cults have to be as open and simultaneously secretive as possible. With that in mind, I now present:

The Thales Guide to Superior Linguistics!

Step One: Translate every even word of the message into Latin and every odd word into Russian.

Step Two: Apply a cypher to the message, with the code word being Arnum.

Step Three: Switch to the Hellenic alphabet.

Step Four: Scramble the word order.

Step Five: Speak like Greek Cthulhu.

Now you've created your very own message!*

*Message may not be suitable for comprehension or pronunciation by those without the gift of tongues. Consult your priest before use.

Religions, the whole religion, speak a singular cult language if I recall right. You're taught it once you reach a high enough rank.

Eh, Daethwin has probably picked it up, but he didn't use it. Yet. Partially because he's afraid that Thales would kill him for knowledge of forbidden things. Which he has an awful lot of.

Yes, this is retconning, but since he spoke softly, you can choose whether he spoke in Arnumian or not, Remuthra.

For clarity:

Blue is hinting at giving you stuff. Obviously, he's trying to one-up Red somehow and it's a certainty he's scheming, but on your behalf (presumably, because you're going to do exactly what he wants you to do, and it's in his best interest that you succeed). As far as random encounters, Red Clan chiefs can order Green and Orange to attack you, but they're not going to do it on your own or act to hurt you.

Also, yeah, cult languages are automatically learned when you're Disciple rank or higher thanks to divine intervention. The degree to which this happens varies from god to god; Coranthiir has different dialects and forbidden words depending on rank, Mingan's language is automatically and fully given to anyone Disciple rank or higher (and sometimes to random people for no apparent reason); Arnum gives you the basics to understand sermons/communicate and requires you to study the language, Uyali's consists of clouds of pheromones and assorted vile/nauseating un-natural bodily functions, etc, etc.

With diseases and mutations and such. Imagine a themed party of "Grow your own clothes from assorted deadly fungi" where people communicate by waging biological/chemical warfare and emitting assorted fluids.

...so yeah, pretty much exactly like a frat house.

His armor looks quite a bit like the spiked full plate image in the 3.5e D&D Players' Handbook, minus the helmet. He wears a close helmet, much like this one. Poleyns, pauldrons, and couters are all in use, as well as the obligatory underarmor padding.
