How to fire a flamethrower?

Anyone knows how to fire a flamethrower? Have been messing up with em in the object arena but cant find out the way to fire them, and i didnt find anything on the manual.

Ability (x) menu

In the past you had to run itemsyndrome force to get such items to work in arena.  Dunno if it's still so.  See latest itemsyndrome documentation.

Manual doesn't cover arena or adventure, because Meph doesn't play it.  Those interested in such things might band together and put together some info on the wiki.
