(Because there are so many, in this is updating in waves. Thrall fish are in the third wave, be patient.)

Islanders

A rough cluster of almost sandy islands, held together by barely visible filaments, snapped in places and lost ballast.  The great gusts of the storm blew this larger portion eastwards, through vast and dangerous tempests to a new land.

Drift Eastwards, conserve evolution point.

With the hunters dying, a few possibilities come to mind. Perhaps the intense radiation from the core is affecting them? A poison secreted by live prey? Or maybe the denser gases are simply unsuited to the Gutterflue's biology?

Gutterflue:
Hunters will continue to bring kills to the group, but will not descend quite so deep. No, they will stay in the relative safety of the gaseous sea, and instead shift their entire hunting range up, rising to hunt the prey above while also ensuring the prey below is kept in check. To aid in the extension of their range, the previously mentioned bloatsac organ system will begin to develop - for now, it will merely aid their bodies in coping with potentially sudden shifts in pressure, and to better maneuver at various depths.

Also, doing it that way?

Extremely rude, extremely unnecessary. Especially twice in a row.
