You are a Lord II - OOC
« on: June 14, 2013, 08:35:14 pm »

Here is an OOC thread.  It menaces with spikes of jibber-jabber and is banded with player-character separation.  There is an engraving of Terenos d'Avistral setting fire to a keep by accident and causing several wars.  The Terenos is screaming.

And dramatically escaping after kicking some dude in the back of the head. Let us never forget that.

Also. I feel this needs noting: I put the fires out!

A clarification on Alexis' primary talent, actually.  Her talent is Spymastery, which is slightly different.  Rather than being an especially talented spy herself, Alexis can set up spy rings and recruit spies, serving as the central hub of intelligence.

SPYNIG is the name of the cyborg butler Alexis has, but sadly he's run out of batteries and they won't invent a charger for 1200 years.

Attempt to woo the chief with the sad story, submissive behaviour and attractiveness. ( I'm guessing my +1 as spy master still counts for this? Since acting skills and being good at tricking people are essential parts of being a spy. )
[6] Your act is a little too successful.  You are brought before the chief, an enormous man with sun-darkened skin and a magnificent white beard and he listens to your story.  Captivated by your beauty, he immediately commands that he will see all your needs met as his newest concubine, and a number of serving women arrive to escort you to your new hut.  They gossip quite freely once they are out of earshot of the chief, but it seems incredibly likely that the chief will come to, ahem, claim you this evening whether you like it or not.
Anyone care to hear what Grewie would say to Alexis if he somehow managed to teleport her to the castle right now and knew what had happened?

Quote from: Korgoth
Greetings, High King.  I am Korgoth, the leader of a large mercenary band that has now wondered into your lands.  I hear you're having trouble with some hillmen?  My men would gladly be of service.  We have excellent heavy-infantry, superior cavalry, and griffin riders to spare.  We come with our own supply wagons of course, and we take the majority of our pay in upkeep and pillage rights.  Do you need our services?

Your boasts are a little, well... boastful.  Your talent is Combat, and in place of a secondary talent you have a Band of Sociopaths.

Your mercenary company is a Tiny, Semi-Professional, Basically-Equipped, Barely Disciplined Company which engages in Semi-Frequent Training.  They require Low Regular Pay but are Heavy Looters.  You presently have No Treasury and really need to get a contract quickly or you'll have to resort to pillage to make payroll.

In essence, your company is a bunch of raiders, mostly with loose mail or leather and axes, with a handful of lightly armed cavalrymen and four griffonry, mostly for scout work or occasional aerial assault.  There is a definite melee focus, though the griffonry can drop things from above.

On the other hand, it's still better than Meridia's army, which basically consists of peasants with sharp sticks.

Thank you for the list of players, which will be shamelessly converted into my court/favour table. Royal privilege and all that.

E:Court table is done, it will be updated regularily. Favour mes excactly that and might bring in rewards as well as attention of the king. Since I love being arbitrary as a king and I want you all to eat each other in courtly intrigue, check the table often since favour changes will be unnanounced.

@Alexandria: I must note that, Alexis aside, Blades are NPCs and, therefore, you have a limited extent of control over their ultimate behavior. In fact, at times, Ardas or Iituem may be required to roll for contested actions, such as, say, a charisma roll. While I leave it for Iituem & the Lord to decide, I believe a roll was due for whether the Blade managed to perfectly emulate Alexis' voice.

Why should it need a roll? It's only a rp action and they are trained for that sort of thing anyway, it's all part of hiding who they really are.

By that logic you need a roll to see if you could tell it was not Alexis's voice since it was muffled by a mask.

Oh and 5 people left the hall not 3.

I agree that there should have been an opposed roll, with the Blade having a bonus for a muffled voice.
However, don't expect training to make things work automatically. Training makes you better, but it does not make you a limited-scope god. If the Blades were attacking someone, would you protest rolling to hit because they are trained with blades?

Faking a voice and attacking somebody is a little different.

If it's being faked as part of an action sure I'd expect a roll, but for pure rp with no game impact it seems pointless.

I would be inclined to let it slide for now, since it doesn't affect much, but I hope we can avoid having actions by NPC proxy too much.
