Here's my summer update. Autumn will be coming up in a bit.

In early summer a wave of new migrants arrived. Eight adults, no children.



The new dining room has been finished. Bedrooms have been dug out and are awaiting furnishings. Additional quarters have been designated to be dug out on the next level.



One of the forts stray canines has earned a name for her prowess in fighting off thieving goblins.



A child was taken by a mood. He claimed a craftsdwarf workshop and starts working furiously with piglet bones, tetrahedrite, and copper. Upon completion he presented a sceptor worth 10800.




I've recruited and mostly outfitted five dwarves for our first squad. They have yet to start training, however. A mayor has also been elected. He is rather unhappy about his living arrangements, or lack there-of.



So ends summer. I didn't get quite as much done as I wanted. Hopefully autumn will be more productive.

You're both in. Time limit is at least one season every three days. If you get inactive, you will be skipped. You can host it anywhere, as long as it is a protected site. I personally use Mediafire, as it is free and easy.

ok perfect, I won't have to download another version. I just cleared space by deleting unused worlds on my DF... 3 GB in just five worlds o.o

I ended up doing the rest of the year in one go.

Nothing particularly exciting happened in autumn. Been working mostly on getting bedrooms made.

We breached the cavern while while digging deeper looking for different ore. We're right over a large chunk of water. I plan to start digging a well shaft down near the soon-to-be hospital.



I set up a barracks to start training our soldiers. I put in orders for armor and weapons to outfit an additional squad. Contruction of quarters for the mayor and military commander are also underway.

A new wave of migrants arrived. Six adults and one child.

Merchants came to trade goods with us. At first they claimed they could not reach our depot. They seemed manage just fine though. The depot needs to be moved from the main hallway though, as it was causing some major traffic jams while the merchants were there. I didn't get around to it though.

I traded our rock and bone crafts for meat and fish, as we were subsisting only on plants for food at that point. I also traded for some crates of cloth and leather. I requested cats(as we have none), turkey hens, steel/iron bars, and a few other things for the next caravan.

I finished up the well as winter started. It's in its own room, and I have stationed a couple war dogs there in case something tries to sneak in that way.



Winter was uneventful too. Finished up furnishing quarters for both the mayor and military commander. They still aren't quite satisfied with the quality, but it'll have to do.

The worker bedrooms that I previously dug out have been fully furnished. More are still needed to fully provide for our population.

Hospital has been finished as well.



A roof and an area for archers to safely shoot from has been started above the farming area and main gate. It will not be complete by the end of the year.



Just as the season came to a close a drafted another squad of five to start training. The first squad has been making decent progress.

Yes I used it. My main DF setup now is the Masterwork Dwarf Fortress, for the added difficulties brought on by the additional monsters and races. But I have yet to design a fortress super-weapon, simply because the pipe mechanics are beyond my figuring out.

The best defense I can ever get is a legendary military and some stonefall traps, lol
