Just curious if any work has been done recently. This is a very intriguing project to me.

Sadly nope. GUI work demotivizes me so effectively.

On the other hand I -am- working at something else, so I'm not 100% lazing around :P

Hi, this isn't dead.

Link to what I'm working on

Basically, I'm changing the game to use Fleets of ships instead of a single Ship. :D

On most menus I'll have the ability to switch between doing an action for a single ship (load 50 rations, hire a ton of sailors...), or the whole fleet (hire 50 sailors and automatically fill the ships depending on who needs more sailors to satisfy the minimum requirement and such).

Also, fleets share rations, so if you have a ship that holds 0 rations and another holds 500, they both don't starve. I think it will be a pretty useful feature.

Nice to see you're still working on this.

The fleets thing seems pretty big too. I eagerly look forwards to when you're finished with it.

After six months, I finally did the thing that made me quit in the first place.

Here you can see the Ship Part Shop. This actually existed before the hiatus.

This is the Harbor screen, accessible from the town menu. You can browse through your fleet's ships and equip or unequip parts.

I am in the process of giving my tiny ship very heavy armor, thus defeating its purpose :P
Pressing 'enter' while a slot is selected takes you to a menu where you can choose to either equip or unequip a part. If you choose to equip, a list of all the parts in your inventory is displayed and you navigate using the up/down arrows to select a part. Enter to pick, esc to cancel picking.

You can see that the base armor and the plating armor is represented separately. The Ship Status screen combines them, but for the Harbor screen I intentionally write them separately to help the player decide what to equip.

Played it for a bit. Pretty great start! I can see a lot of potential for it.

I've released a new demo (this, 501 KB), if you haven't noticed. It even has a readme!

The zip obviously only works natively on Windows. If
