Hello.
I created Mass Pitting system as described here: http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Mass_pitting
and can't understand how actually drop goblins to pit.
I have many, many caged goblins, like 20, and my pitting room prepared only for 4 goblins.
So, to drop goblins into pit I should select particular goblins in pit designation menu "i-P-select" ? And if yes, than it is almost impossible to choose only those 4 goblins who are already in pitting room stockpile. What should I do ?

And one more question - on what basis these cages are sorted in this list ?

You're right, it's i-P-select. The interface sucks, no question. I'm pretty sure the units on the list are sorted "chronologically," with the newest ones toward the bottom, although I'm not sure whether that's the order in which they were caged or the order in which they arrived on the map.

I'm pretty sure it is the order in which they arrived. Or at least became visible on the unit list.

You need to use their names to find them in the list. Dfhack adds search function by the way.
