Star Citizen: The Old Thread Was Dead

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The above is what I posted three years ago when the game seemed feasible.  Since then my views have change.  I recommend not pledging anything to this game and watching from the sidelines.

Looks really cool. Remember watching a bunch of videos about this about a year ago.

Its good that it will have normal single player campaign as I am not interested that much in a MMO.
Now only to save money for good comp that will be able to run this beast

I am a proud owner of an RSI Constellation. :D

I'd like to add a smaller, more agile ship. Hard to decided between 325a or Hornet or Cutlass. >.>

This intrigued me a while back, but I avoided it, to prevent myself hyping up and waiting years till it's actually out. Saddly, I stumbled across a news story on it recently and watched a video. Now I'm hooked, and have no money to pre-order. So I'm stuck absorbing info on this for the next forever until it finally releases.... Damnit.

You'll have plenty of time to pre-order. It's projected release is the holiday season next year. November-December 2014.

I love the idea, but i wonder how they'll manage the buy to play with the costs of the pretty intensive server architecture this will need. I hear GW2's micro-transactions are less then perfect (though i think good enough for no one to care too much, in a somewhat themeparky game), and there wont be any leniency for someone trying to compete with Eve's shenanigans.

The main site is currently down for renovation.  Apparently there will be a grace period to still get insurance on pre-orders, but I'm not certain.

I find the concepts they want to do interesting, and they got a crap-ton of funding. However, I still question if they can deliver on an 'everything for everyone' game the way they promised. Mostly because I question if anyone can deliver everything that was promised for this game and have it all play well.

I'm not going to pre-order, but when it comes out I might be in line to buy it.

Backed a while ago, already got my Citizen's Card. I've diligently learned or followed nothing about this game since backing, partly because they info bomb constantly with fluff and partly because I'm saving all that for the first time I fire up the game.

All I see seem good for a single player game, but I see very little that would make a MMO game work. Hopefully they will expand on what they are planning to do on that front.
