2 Limestone
I finally got around to trading. The humans had mostly useless things, so I just gave them a few dozen lead bars in return for some wood, cloth, and leather (along with one gold nugget).
9 Limestone
Some rough estimates for the tower I'm building:
88 blocks per level for 15 levels = 1320 blocks, plus a bit more for the roof and rooms at the top.
Work begins on the third layer:
17 Limestone
The merchants left. I should have some trade goods made by the time the dwarf caravan arrives. Hopefully they bring another anvil, since we only have one forge right now.
25 Limestone
The miners found yet another silver vein. Since we have 391 silver bars already, I've decided to use silver trap components in trading.
2 Sandstone
The tower is almost 1/3 of the way done.
16 Sandstone
I've discovered that we have WAY too many animals. All the bunnies, lots of cats, and most of the puppies are being slaughtered.
17 Sandstone
Half the tower is finished. After I finish the next floor, I'll let the dwarves stop so they don't all get rusty in their normal skills.
19 Sandstone
A dwarf just went insane. Luckily, he's just a useless fish dissector. It seems I don't quite have enough clothing.
23 Sandstone
It's time to make some more bedrooms; we only have 100 beds for 195 dwarves. Also, I've halted work on the tower while more rock blocks are made. It has 9/16 layers finished, along with a stairwell that goes all the way up and a few unfinished layers.
25 Sandstone
Finally, some combat (if not much). A kobold thief showed up and ran straight at the barracks, a war dog attacked him, a hunter shot him, and then the same hunter bashed his head in with a bronze crossbow.
26 Sandstone
"Some migrants have arrived". Most migrants were useless, but I did get a great metalsmith and an adequate strand extractor.
2 Timber
Another strange mood, this time it's a child. Hopefully he picks something useful like a forge to make an artifact in.
Later in the day, he claims a craftsdwarf's workshop. Looks like he won't make anything too useful, but he might be good for making trade goods later in life.
9 Timber
Just ordered every tree on the map (except the caverns) cut down. Since we have no coal veins and I haven't moved magma up yet, there is a huge demand for logs to fuel furnaces.
16 Timber
The moody child finally finished her artifact: (value is a huge 922800)
We also got a legendary stone crafter out of this; sadly she is only 6 years old. At least someone down the line will get a legendary stonecrafter.
19 Timber
The dwarf caravan just arrived. Time to bring some trade goods.
