Ok so you're all crewmembers on a ship, specifically:

Ship Name : The Glorious Unicorn.
Ship Function : Military Fighter Dreadnaught

Turns will be divided between non-emergency and emergency, during non-emergency turns only the captain has to worry bout rolls, everybody else can pretty much take free actions, within reason naturally, no activating self-destruct without a serious roll, and during emergencies "combat, ship bout to blow up" that kind of thing the captain gets free actions and everyone else has to roll.

Captains job is to give ship-wide orders, including things like where you are going in space, who you shoot at, pretty much anything that could affect EVERYONE

Oh almost forgot the best part of this RTD.

THERE IS NO WAITLIST

Anyone can jump in and be a full member of the crew at ANY TIME, under the assumption you were always there but were wearing red up till that point.
Starships are awesome like that  8)

(( Heavily armoured, heavily shielded, lots and lots of cannons and pdl, multiple hangers for fighter and bomber squadrons. ))

I'll be a part of this!
Once I figure out who and what I want to be... mostly likely once I see what the crew as a whole is. Also, I second being a military fighter carrier.
But I'll throw out a name as The Ark Royal.

Think of it as a dreadnaught with lots of fighters.  ))

Great...naturally, because if theres one things you can count on humans to do, its use every chance to put guns onto things.
I'm honestly surprised my CPU casing isn't just a giant cannon....is it.....oh TWO it is isn't it?

Due to shit I just made up, all in character stuff from me is in red (because warship)
Also kinda hilarious that its a warship, as I intended for this to be a "humans haven't contacted aliens yet" setting, which I suppose if the military is willing to make a AI with the kind of personality I'm displaying, being fully ready to blow shit up on the SUSPICION of aliens is totally in character :P
Also note "two" is a computer swear word (because binary....IT MAKES SENSE DAMN IT)

Ok since I've been kinda making it up as I go along, heres the general setting:

1.First contact not yet established, so no aliens at the start (but a sufficiently paranoid military human element XD)

2.Current tech level is somewhere in the "Battlestar Galactica to Star Trek:Enterprise" area, so no force fields yet, but the ship is def heavily armored and has lots and lots of guns, and also lots of little ships with lots of littler guns (and guns inside those guns OH FUCK) EDIT: Oh and we have an AI for like no reason, that ones a bit weird but we'll roll with it.

3.Eventually gonna draw a map, and also diagram of ship systems as more gets fleshed out.

I can work with that, though half the little ships will have fewer guns but also carry missiles instead.

Your flight suit is damp from abuse of your sweat glands, but otherwise fine. Your sidearm is a gun, it is well taken care of here. Moreso then you in fact. As for ships we have fighters large enough for a human pilot. They have missiles in the gun barrels.

Hmmm, well nothing left to do now but hunt for new and interesting species to commit genocide against.

Pick a random direction and then head out at top speed searching for aliens.

I think our theme for the ship should be an "LGBT Rave". So the whole thing is painted pink, with some rainbows and unicorns and such. I imagine the uniform involving things like tight leather pants for the guys, and plaited skirts with fishnets for the ladies. We can constantly blast Lady Gaga and Eurodance music from our external speakers.

Assemble the guard for a rally.
