First action: Summon a sword... Which falls over his head with the sharp edge due to -1 Potency and a bad roll.

I wonder, would there perhaps be any chance that you add back the gods?

I won't rule it out, but I'm not promising anything.

With the current shape of the arena, it won't be too much trouble to add a couple more rooms if the current layout gets stale.  New features could be slipped in that way.  With gods though, if I did add them, they'd probably be chosen when you spawn with no real option to change them mid-life.  (I'd figure out something for living players at the time I added them.)  I'd also add something to make atheism a viable choice.

I do have one an endgame idea just to throw out and see if people like.  If one max level person kills another max level person, respawning would be disabled.  It would become everyone versus this powerhouse.  If that person could kill off everyone else, he/she would be the winner.  If that person died, the empty slots would fill back up and the game would keep going.  If I still wanted to run the game, I could then reshuffle the book, make a new arena, and start everyone fresh.  The winner would probably get input into the new system as a reward.

No idea if I'd actually do that- just an idea to toss out.

If you combine Xan's discovery of gold with Piecewise's apparent liquid spell, you might get molten gold.

Even if you can't use it violently, you'd be rich!
Only if you killed everyone else to discover the word for "gold"

((I like the endgame idea, even though there's a 98% chance the winner isn't me.  :p))

The pool is incredibly deep and does not seem to be hiding anything of value.  Derek is at a loss for what to do, so he decides to dip his wand in the pool of water.  If nothing happens from that, he'll try tapping on the crystals with the wand instead.  Even if he isn't magical, the wand may still work, right?

Actions.
Stomp on Xantalos' face and throat until he is no more.

[Str:5]  Stomp stomp stomp splat.  A pinprick of light rises out from under your stomping boot and floats into your chest.

[Xantalos is dead.  Tod-5 gains a point!]

Flail about.
End him.

[Joe Spd:1+1]
[Derm Spd:2]

[Joe Dex:6-1]
[Derm Dex:6]

[Derm Str:5-1]
[Joe Str:5-1]

Derm and Joe continue to grapple each other, but Derm isn't able to push his advantage any harder than to prevent Joe from escaping, and lining him up for another attack.

You dip your wand into the pool.  The wand is now wet.  Tiny ripples spread out from the point of contact, sending miniature waves crashing onto the sandy beach.  The water quickly settles down.  You are almost disappointed when an eldritch abomination entirely fails to jump out of the water and rearrange your entrails.

That done, you tap the crystals.  They'd probably make a ringing tone if they were bigger and not mostly embedded in the rock.  The want, for its part, just makes the crystals a little wet, spreading its dampness around.  Surely there's some way to use it, but banging it on random things doesn't do it.

Your weaponizing plans foiled and replaced with thoughts of nunchuck-based destruction, you continue your magical research.

[Pot:5+1]  A series of bright magical ley lines appear and run down your left leg, then flare brightly.  They leave no trace and appear to have done nothing, however.

[Pot:4+1]  A similar effect, but the bright flare replaced by a slow fade, happens on your right leg.

[Pot:5+1]  The same effect as the first happens, but this time across your whole body.

The Golden Scholar bursts into being in the middle of the bottomless pit bridge.  The transition surprises him so much he drops his staff into the pit.  Dammit.

Hey it will probably kill me, but with NINE words, it will undoubtedly be the most hilarious and awesome death ever.

"Derek," Myra says, gesturing at the crystals and flora around her, "Nothing I can see here that's wrong with all this. They're all mundane, if my suspicions need any supernatural proof. However, they may also be useful. Crystals embedded in walls, and..mushrooms of unknown potential. Must not eat though, I'm unsure if they're poisonous or hallucinogenic.

"...Now to only find out how to harvest them. Probably won't matter if we keep on exploring, hmm?"

And the rest? There may already be dead. In a smaller room than this.
"Though this is quite a large room with nothing to hide, and it somehow leads back to the main-wait I'll check it out.",She added, checking out the path heading Northeast.
