OOC Thread
This is the emergency broadcast system. It has been a year as of speaking since the disaster. The disaster has caused widespread chaos. We have won the war. However, society has become destabilized in the process. In order to save our country, we have disposed of the civilian government and initiated martial law for the duration. We will be issuing orders to the civilian populace from here on out. The situation is under control. We are beginning a return to normality.

Please proceed to a nearby green zone. These are towns that have been cleared of bandits and other threats, and have been secured by military forces. You will be assigned a home for you and your family, and will enjoy a standard of living incomparable to living out in the yellow or red zones. You will be assigned citizenship papers that you must have on you at all times. If you do officially sanctioned jobs, you will be given a ration card. You may spend these cards when the army visits every week to hand out rationed materials.

There are only a few rules to living within green zones. Follow them, or face the punishments.

1. Do not kill or injure a fellow citizen of the green zone, or a soldier of any rank. They are your friends, and you should not hurt your friends.
2. Do not gain more food then supplied by your ration cards. Scavenging, racketeering, and thievery are unfairly putting yourself above your fellow citizens.
3. Do not spread deviant thoughts or support revolutionary movements. We are trying to help you. You should repay us in kind by trusting us.

That is all. Please proceed to your nearest green zone. We will feed you. We will house you. We will protect you. We are promising you a better life: who are you to refuse?

What is this?

This is a forum game, inspired by Metro 2033 and the Road, that isn't about winning at all. This is a forum game that's all about losing in a lot of ways. You are a citizen after the end of the world, in a town that's under the harsh jackboot of the military. There's too little food, too many people around, and not enough jobs to get rations. In short, the world is fucked and so are you.

What makes this game unique? Well, a few things. One, this will be arranged in rounds. These rounds last until every player but one is dead or might as well be. After a round has finished, you can switch characters if you want to try something new, and I may swap players out for waitlisters. Another thing is that this game will alternate between GMs, like a succession game. Want to do a forum game but don't want the trouble of starting one and potentially burning out on it? Just post that you want to be put on the GM list (You can be a player and a GM, though obviously not in the same round) and I'll put you on it. When your turn comes up, you can start GMing right away.

Now, here's how the game's going to operate.
Spoiler: Game Mechanics (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Character Creation (click to show/hide)
I will be taking five players at the start, but the GM and wait list is unlimited.

Hum ho. PTW and maybe reserve.

As a player; I'd kill the game as a GM.

Reserving, this is so much like the Last of Us as well.

Character Sheet
Name: They are known only as Ghost.
Bio: Not much is known about Ghost, not even their gender, though most assume its a he. They don't talk, and usually has their lower face hidden by a blue scarf. They do odd jobs around the cities and towns for ration cards, but always seemed to recent the soldiers, denying requests to join them many times with a cold look in his eyes as they shook their head. They always seem to look beyond the walls with a sad look, like they missed their freedom, even with the dangers it brought.
Appearence: Ghost has green eyes and a thin, but sturdy build. His Gender is unknown but their hair is light brown. They always wear a blue scarf to cover their neck scar and lower face. Their eyes are gray and they wear an old brown shirt, faded jeans, and hiking boots. They are often seen wearing old Leather gloves.
Attributes: Endurance- 0
Force- 0
Fortitude- 2
Inspection- 1
Skills: Sneaking (Hiding from view and walking quietly) +1
Recurve Archery (Skilled with Recurve Bows, for hunting and killing) +3
Advantages: Recurve Bow (Has a Bow with 5 hunting arrows (hunting- Sharp enough to pierce Kevlar at 10ft... but you'll likely get shot at that range first))
Map (Has a general map of the city and sketches of outside areas)
Disadvantages: Can't speak (Was shot in the throat in the early days but managed to recover, though unable to make any noise more than a moan of pain)
Suspicious (Ghost always look suspicious to those who don't know them, with only Guards at gates or well used areas really not watching what hes doing)

Remember to mention whether or not you're reserving yourself to be a GM or a player, since that is an aspect of this.

Reserved for a character. ( Not GM. )

Out of curiosity, can we play with a goal of just surviving and not winning?

That's the point of the game! Just try to survive as long as possible before any number of horrible events do you in. The "last player is when the game ends" bit is just to prevent the game becoming focused on one player.

Heh ok works for me.

Name : Alexis Jade
Bio.
Appearance : Long bright red hair, pale blue eyes, a slim full figure with scars covering her limbs.
Personality : Wary but friendly, happy to help as much as she can but she won't get herself killed for somebody else, at least not without a serious reward for taking the risk.
Background : Alexis was a spoiled rich girl until the world went to hell, she learned quickly that the new world would not be kind to her and she hardened herself up to survive in determined not to become a victim of it.
Her family didn't survive and nor did anybody else she knew, after wandering for a while she found her way to the new town and has settled in trying to make the most of her new life.

Attributes.
Fortitude : 1
Inspection : 2

Skills.
NLMA. ( Martial arts to disarm and disable. )
Animal tamer. ( Skilled at taming animals. )

Advantage : Trained wolves. ( A pair of viscous wolves trained to hunt. Not mutated. Male and Female. Good for protection and for hunting. )
Disadvantage : Need to be fed. ( A wolf can go weeks without food and longer then a human without water. But it's still 2 mouths to feed. )
Advantage : Butchers kit. ( So I can get the most out of an animal I kill for food. )
Disadvantage : Missing finger and thumb from one hand. ( Unable to use a weapon, though doesn't effect butchering since she can do it with the good hand. )

Most are horribly mutated, but they're still there. Also, martial arts would give you a +2, cos it's still pretty general.

(( Hmmm, how about defensive martial arts? Would that be more specific. So she can defend herself well but only has a minor advantage if she's attacking.

Are they safe to eat and can they still be tamed/trained and bred? ))

Okay, that'll give enemies -2 to attacking and +1 to you attacking. They are safe to eat (In a very general way) and they can be tamed.

Hmm good idea, I could pick a specific style of martial arts.

Ok editing my sheet, I picked a specific style of martial arts. One that I know some of so assign as you see fit :) but it's not really defensive. It's based on crippling or killing as quickly and efficiently as possible.

You can have more then one, but keep it to two, please. Also, Krav Maga is designed for it's universality, so I'll have to give you a +1 for it, and +1 to hunting. Ranger Cado gets a +3 to bows, since Recurve Bows are quite specific, and +1 to sneaking.
