game crashes onn embark! help!

i just found out you can increase your embark size and i have a good computer so lag isnt a problem but when I make my embark size maximmum the game pauses for a few seconds like its loading but then just closes :( any help is appreciated

Make it smaller, too big embark takes up too much memory, DF's limited to 2 gig ( or 3 gig in extended address hack or non-Window system ) and crashes.

Or go back to pre-31.xx versions.

thanks I shrunk it down to about half the full size and it runs very smoothly!
