Okay, so sometimes DFTerm3 loses contact with DF. And then it opens a new copy without checking for the old one first.

Playing on putnam's server right now with others. The window size needs to be bigger. So hard to play when im use to expanding it to fit most of my screen, even just a bit bigger would help considering build and dig menus take up 2/3 of the screen.

That's my responsibility, not Adeon's. Sorry. Fixed it.

EDIT: Okay, the very largest grievance I have is all the extra windows popping up whenever DFTerm3 loses its connection to DFHack for whatever reason. My brother was just complaining about having 4 separate DF windows open for the one install.

Does unicode support transparency? Because if not, then this wont work. Its the first thing I thought of as well, make a font that resembles the tileset, but the font-editor I have does not allow any sort of transparency settings. Font Glyphs are also damn hard to paint.

I'm pretty sure unicode has to support some kind of transparency/character overlaying, as that seems to be what goes on with Zalgo diacritics.

Even if it didn't, I'm not sure why transparency is super necessary? I mean, it would look nicer, sure, but I don't use tilesets to make the game look nicer. (colorblind)

I just shut down the server because I could barely deal with the ~40-50 separate DF windows open for the one install I woke up to this morning.

About tilesets: I can probably get tilesets to work in-browser (possibly even transparency, although I haven't figured that out yet). It might not support certain older browsers (IE), but it should at least work in browsers that support websockets.

I'm confused about this multiple-copies-of-DF problem - can you provide a screenshot? Are all of the windows functional, or are most of them frozen? Does closing them make a difference? Do you see any log messages from the server when this happens?

All of the windows are functional. DFTerm3 simply loses connection to the DFHack plugin, as far as I can tell. Closing them makes no difference. They're totally superfluous. The server says that it "lost connection".

Are they DF windows or browser windows?

DF windows. The server terminal says that it lost connection to DF.

I've noticed this multi-window problem too but I haven't gotten 30-40 windows. Whenever DFTerm loses connection to DFHack and people click on the game name on the game choose screen it seems that DFTerm is launching a new instance of df instead of trying to reconnect to the current one. Putnam is probably getting so many windows because of his reddit post and people are probably spamming refresh and clicking the game name everytime his games disconnect.

Great work on the plugin, by the way. My friends and I have been running a server for the past day or so with few issues besides the occasional disconnect.

I've released Dfterm3 v0.2. No groundbreaking changes but there is something.

Perhaps most noticeably, the playing web interface has had some minor improvements. Lethosor has been contributing some user interface changes to the administrator panel. More keys work now, such as shift+key combinations.

I have attempted to fix duplicate Dwarf Fortresses popping up but it is difficult to guarantee there will not be duplicates. You may get duplicates during the initial configuration phase but hopefully, as of now, you shouldn't randomly lose connection to the Dfhack plugin. I encourage you to help me test it by reporting whether you get more duplicates or not.

You must update the Dfhack files for your Dwarf Fortresses so download both of the packages even if you are just upgrading from Dfterm3 v0.1 to v0.2.

My only issue so far has been an error message*, and that didn't seem to affect anything.

*dfterm3.exe: <socket: 1988>: hGetBuf: invalid argument (Bad file descriptor)

I've tried messing up the connection with everything I've seen do it (changing the screen size, etc.) but none of it's done it so far. All it needs is a large-number-of-people stress test to really check out.

OK, this is fairly awesome. I expect to see people with links in their sigs soon-ish to their multiplayer pages... though of course I don't expect everyone to do so. Nor do I require it... just predict it will happen.
For example, those of us on laptops, or who can't get the bandwidth needed for such projects won't be able to host anything.

I'm afraid I don't understand why the talk about graphics packs, though. Do people actually play with those? (Kidding, kidding, but I understand the default display much easier)

Those error messages should be harmless and they are also expected. They just look scary. I'm glad that, for the moment, it looks like connection doesn't drop quite so easily.
