Small, light objects can be sent in envelopes with no extra cost, I think.

Yup. That was what I was going to do. But I never got an email back from Toady saying it was OK - I presume that he wasn't comfortable with it. Which is fine. It's his game.

He uses ascii, but he doesn't own it: only the modified ones with beards are his. You could use the smiley faces with no copyright infringement, even if Toady One has copyrighted DF.

Since there is enough demand and legally I'm fine (not necessarily morally, though), I'll assume that no reply doesn't mean no, and will go ahead and make some.

If you want one, email me with a color request. Colors in the scrap bin: Dark transaprent red, neon yellow, neon orange, clear, matte clear, opaque orange, black.

What's immoral about it? Toady One has no intentions to make anything like this, so it'll be of no loss to him. Some people get cool stuff, everyone's happy.
