1. But if you're invulnerable, isn't that basically what's going to happen? The only difference is that one forces you to realize that hey, your character is immortal, while the other gives the illusion that your character might be able to lose.

It's not my system, its your proposed patch to my system. I recall that some number was added to the difference. I can't remember what the number was for the life of me.

GWG for combat against mass numbers of low-grade enemies, like the humans Kyle is currently fighting, I'd suggest mass combat rules in a swarm system


they're not all individual humans with 5 stats in everything - that would take AGES to chew through.
Instead, make them into a swarm entity




swarm of weaklings/soldiers/trained soldiers:


str = 5/10/15 +number of enemies/numbers of enemiesx1.5/number of enemiesx/2
dex = 5/10/15 +number of enemies/numbers of enemiesx1.5/number of enemiesx/2 when attacking, however no bonus when defending
end = 5/10/15
mag = 5/10/15 +number of enemies/numbers of enemiesx1.5/number of enemiesx/2 (if they attack magicaly)
mind = 5/10/15


health = number of enemiesx5/numbers of enemiesx10/number of enemiesx/15

AoE attacks against swarms deal double damage

that was a large group of humans, or even weaker demons, can be represented in a properly in that supers can take care of several of them in a single round (also speeding things up), and are easy to hit because dex is not boosted on the defence part. however when there are many individuals, fighting them makes it very hard to not get hit by them (large dex while attacking) and you get hit very hard (large str). This goes down as their numbers go down
