Sergei looks at the attendant, "That's alright Miss, trains are rather expensive to replace after all." He grins with the last and hefts a somewhat irregular black metal case onto his back before stepping off the train just in time to hear a shrill whistle and a woman waving frantically at him. With no clue where to go he shrugs and heads over to the woman. "Huh, didn't know I was so popular already. I'm Sergei Vasilyev." He holds out his hand to shake.

"Harvey! Get away from there!"

Retrieve sword and slash in Harvey's general direction with amazing sword powers.

Slowly, Konicek stretched after a long journey spent in silence. Joints popped and crackled like frost breaking. He stepped off the train and surveyed the area in a single smooth look. He walked up to the woman, one hand resting on the head of his hand axe. He breathed out and one could almost see the plume of fog.

Harvey smiles at Yukkuri.

"I guess that was one way to get to know each other huh hunni. Calm down."

Head back towards base.

make sure to carry the laptop as high as possible when crossing the river and start making a raft that can carry at least 50 kg and has a large water tight area for carrying electronics and stuff also dig a hole not far from the river for storage mark and cover it with a hood of a car or something else flat and hard that won't blow away

Sofia pauses to catch her breath, then wordlessly looks to where the ring of fire was. If it's still there, she extinguishes it, then heads back to base with Harvey. Just before leaving, she speaks.

"...Well, that could have gone worse. You missed the fun, Red. Can we head back now?"

Squad A

Urist

You carry laptop across the water without a hitch, and head back across the river to gather materials for raft-making. Not much wood seems to be left from when the city fell, but there's plenty of pvc pipe lying around which works just as well if not better. You begin lashing these together with old bungee-cords when you get an uneasy feeling that you're being watched. Looking around, you don't see anything nearby, but the feeling doesn't go away, and you begin to develop a nasty headache as you wonder what's going on.

Sofia, Yukkuri, Red, and Harvey

The ring of flames from before is completely gone, replaced with several burnt lattices of vines which are crumbling apart rapidly. It seems as if the monster was using them in order lock you all in, although it couldn't have been too great of a barrier, since Red managed to make it through mostly unscathed. As Sofia catches her breath, Harvey wriggles free of the vine, accidentally jostling Yukkuri a few times in the process.

"Harvey! Get away from there!"

Yukkuri manages to extricate herself from the vine as well and immediately grabs her damaged sword, brandishing it at Harvey, who just grins at her before heading down the hill back towards base.

"I guess that was one way to get to know each other, huh hunni? Calm down."

Sofia follows him too, calling out to Red as she leaves.

"...Well, that could have gone worse. You missed the fun, Red. Can we head back now?"

Being mute and all, Red doesn't answer, but merely shrugs before readying his fists again and waiting at the top of the hill with Yukkuri.

A short time later, Harvey and Sofia arrive back at Arundel, where Sasha is standing outside, talking to a group of new recruits. Upon noticing the two of them, she looks aorund for the rest of the group before speaking.

"So, what's the news on Yukkuri? Has anyone sent up a flare yet?"

Kyle

You decide to let Blondie be for now and head back up to the surface, where you spot Sasha Greene and another rookie squad, as well as Harvey and Sofia, who seem a little out of breath, probably from running all the way here from wherever they were searching.

Squad B

The three of you hop off the train and head towards the waving woman. While there's quite a crowd gathered, they make sure to keep their distance, although you're not sure if it's because of Sergei's enormous black case or Konicek's general spookiness. Whatever the reason may be, you make it through easily enough and prepare to introduce yourselves, but the woman speaks before any of you have a chance to.

"Hello, I'm Sasha Greena, Slicer specialist and leader of Squad B, which you're now all members of. I take it that you're Sergei, Adrian, and Leona? I'll get who's who sorted out once we get inside, but welcome to Arundel, which I'm sure you learned about back at the Academy. Now, let's get inside and get rooms sorted out so that I can get the rest of my paperwork filled out and I can show you around tomorrow."

Just as she says this, an athletic-looking man and woman come running up, attracting Sasha's attention. She gestures at you three to wait for a moment before addressing them.

"So, what's the news on Yukkuri? Has anyone sent up a flare yet?"

Hey wait! What a waste. I need to get some materials before I go.

Pick up any useful items or materials from the defeated monster, glare menacingly at Harvey, refusing to accept forced RNG shippery.

EDIT: If the return to base is successful, find a place to repair and upgrade my sword as soon as possible.

Sergei awkwardly pulls his proffered hand back and waits while Sasha speaks with the others and deciding not to but into the conversation.
