Sheila used a sleeve to wipe some ichor off of her face. "I'll be glad to see the back of this place too. And I'm looking forward to seeing the Emperor's tomb!"

Landing, Ciera frowned. She hadn't had much luck against any of the spiders, but then again, everyone else had been having trouble too. She walked Mazin over towards the rest of the group and smiled at them.

"Right then. Lets get out of here."

Leo moved to the vanguard position.

"Indeed, the more distance between us and Oggal, the better. I don't think he bought the traveling circus story. We need to make haste before he decides to go around nearby villages and ask about it."

"Why'd we tell him we were performers anyway? If he'd asked for a show, a bunch of us woulda looked awful silly. I don't know a lot of tricks. Non lethal ones, anyway."

: "Traveling circus? You went with that?"
: "Well I suppose between me and pink-hair, we could have come up with something on short notice. Not anything good, mind, but something."

: "Yeah, sorry about that. It was the first thing I could think of...other than, y'know, tellin' em the truth and prob'ly gettin' attacked. I dunno, I ain't good with talkin' to noble folks."

"What's done is done. Instead of biting our fingernails and worrying, we should keep pushing forward to our objective. If Oggal comes after us, then we'll deal with him when he does. Otherwise he's none of our concern."

~~Chapter 9: The Founding Father~~

It took one more day before they have arrived at the mountains that have separated the inner Empire from its affiliaties and holdings in the West. Once at the base of the mountains, they had to rely on Fezz, who in turn had to rely on the bits of knowledge that Duke Sepin whispered to him in a hurry.

It took hours to find the correct path, the correct cave, but finally they have arrived at a cave that was unmistakably the very tomb of Troy Lionheart, the Vanquisher of the Magi and the First Emperor.

The tunnel was tall and wide, columns carved from the stone of its walls, and dusty tiles of green marble paved the way inside. The height of the ceiling even allowed Miguel, Ciera and others to remain mounted and still have few feet between them and the rough rock above.

The group was led by Charles, who remained solemn, and by one more individual, who was unmistakably super-excited for some reason!

"Mister Fezz, are you sure we're going the right way? I do not wish to dispute what Duke Sepin might've told you, but we have been walking through this dark cave for a while now..."

Meanwhile, in the back.

"I like the ambient heat of this place..."

"Heat? What are you talking about?"

"You might not be feeling it through your heavy... shoes, but I can feel it. There is lava coursing under this tunnel. Don't worry, we are safe from it. It is pleasant feeling, though."

"...okay. Whatever, I guess?"

Suddenly, all chatter had to be silenced by a distant sound of thunder, some yelling, and then some loud talking. From here, the mercenaries couldn't tell who what and where.

"Ancient traps? Gravediggers? Something worse? We should tread with caution!"

For some reason, Candy felt a slight bout of nausea for a brief moment.

~~Player Turn 1~~

Reach the Tomb of Troy Lionheart and investigate!
