Kwaa-naa's Group Forms four groups.

I Light Archers (Default)
II Light Archers (Default
I Light Lancers (Default)
These 3 groups will be encompassed of our Spears, Archers, and Hunters.
I Unarmed (default)
This group will include everyone else.

General Tactic:

Start at B.

I Light Archers and II Light Archers attempt to fire arrows into the other avians.
I Heavy Lancers try their best to defend the archers, and if needed countercharge.
I Unarmed try to drop rocks and any kind of debris onto the enemy elven archers. Try to keep out of danger's way as possible; it is only supression fire.

When I put the priority things down, I meant that 3 would have th most, not 1...
So could it be a spread of 8 people in Unbridged Fords, 6 in Rolling Kegs and Serrated Knives, and 5 each in Hidden Brambles and Mocking Ravens?

@kaian-a-coel
You could just throw everyone into one squad and tell them to "hit the first enemy they see". ._.
In all honesty I agree; this is prone to constant changes so, I dunno, suggest things? :D

@Rolepgeek
I suppose I should've clarified some more then.  :-[
And yes it can. :3

@evilcherry
1. I have your archers split as pro to 1, hunters to 2. If you want a different makeup (say, even count of pro/militia for both) lemme know.
2. Your orders say "heavy lancers". Do you want heavy or light lancers? :|

@Elephant Parade
I really should've mentioned this earlier: have something similar to a proper combat signup. :3

@All
On squads:
It's largely just for keeping track of individual units better.
Instead of having to say "10 lancers split from the group to do blah-de-blah" it's just "group B go here".
(For the record you can't split a squad).

Oh yeah, what are the advantages and disadvantages of each weapon compared to the others?

@Rolepgeek

Hmm...
In General
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As for which is better versus which it's largely dependent on the squad; a spear squad with good morale and organization will hold its own against the higher reach lances, while a squad of heavily equipped swordsmen can and will die to a sudden Avian wooden lance diving charge.

Again, your people are stupid only for development purposes, they will not try to impale themselves against lancers even if you tell them to "Charge enemy head on".

1. Even Count please. Ideally the pros lead the amateurs.

2. Light Lancers. They are only there to do a counter charge against avian spears should they elect to charge (even at a numerical disadvantage) so they need to get up to speed quickly.

I can see the avian battle would be a climbing race to protect bombers.

Taking A

Spears 1
Medium Spear Squad
Priority 1 (not really understanding priority, but I'm basically wanting all my fishers in two squads, all my lumberjacks in one, all gatherers in one and all orchadeers in one... so I... well... prioritise everything at 1 :P)
General Order: Advance behind squad shield of the Axes. React to battle. If the other charge, charge to support. If we see flankers, charge the flankers. If we're being charged, brace.

Spears 2
Medium Spear Squad
Priority 1
General Order: Same as Spears 1.

Axes
Medium Axe Squad
Priority 1
General Order: Carry squad shield. Rotate those that hold it when half-way to enemy. Other than that, same orders as spears 1 and 2.

Bows 1
Medium Archer Squad
Priority 1
General Order: Harry any enemies that get within range with arrows. Priority: shoot those damn birdmen. If none around, target the elves. When the axes leave the squad shield to fight, use it for cover against archers.

Bows 2
Medium Archer Squad
Priority 1
General Order: Same as Bows 1

Hope that seems fine. Poor turn out for the combat.

@Maxinum McDreich
Priority meant that I'd do a pass of every squad to fill it up, and the ones with higher priority would get more men.

And considering the turnout...if nothing else it means I need to fiddle with it some more in the future. -shrug-

@All
I just got home so I'll do the final touchups on the "Formal" beginning of engagement.

Bow avians instead of spear avians. Surprise. Problematic, too.

Still, try to gain more energy i.e. Height than the opponent.

Derp, forgot to post my army. If it's too late, then oh well. Don't wait for me, though; I won't be able to post it until tomorrow.

@Elephant Parade
Mm...I'll have you marked down as reinforcements then.
Your forces (if you submit one) will join the battle on the turn following your submission (so if you join on tuesday's turn they'll show up on wednesday's turn).
Also if you join in the enemy army will get bumped up accordingly (25 men). No biggie.

@evilcherry
The two sides aren't really close enough for attacks to matter yet.
Hm...Maybe I should've made the map smaller. Oh well. :D

That does not matter. Being caught out by avians a hundred meters above is much worse.

Approach, while gaining height. Debris for unarmed ready.

Unless you specify coordinates I'll be assuming you mean "beeline the enemy".
In which case on next turn you'll be at 7,2.

Unbridged Fords will move to 7,6, attempting to stay hidden. Serrated Knives and Rolling Kegs will move to 7,7, attempting to remain concealed in the forest. Mocking Ravens and Hidden Brambles will move to 7,8, attempting to remain hidden in the forest.
