The Meat Wagon
« on: May 10, 2014, 12:51:44 pm »

My friend doesn't play Dwarf Fortress, and doesn't quite get how it works, but he managed to come up with something horrifying and perfectly dwarfy nonetheless. I promised him I would share this abomination, so here it is.
Gentlemen, behold.

The only downside to this thing is that it requires custom body parts to work, supplied here. Simply copy and paste into body_default.txt for results.

Put your stuff into
Code: [Select]

Code: [Select]
[RIGHT] and [LEFT] doing their bbcode functions.

That's... that's twisted. I like it.

It'd be cool to see an "evil" civ use these to haul goods to your fortress-- or as living siege weapons.

You can make custom wagons and even give them interactions, but you can't decide who uses them.

Well, it's, technically, a creature.  So, you could give it the Beast of Burden tags with ridiculously high weight limits, like a wagon.  Then just set them to only be used by the target civ.  May possibly get an outlier of one tamed by the elves, but that's kinda in canon anyway.

i suspect that wouldn't work plus we may end up with wagons puling wagons

What if the wagons pull wagons with caged wagons inside them?

It would be glorious.

I think it would be best to use the meat wagon as a PACK animal, but not PULL animal. Give it to a civ with no pull animals, so they never bring actual multi-tile wagons, but instead their caravan arives with a few traders and meat-wagons, like elves arrive with horses all the time. I think thats exactly what I will do with the Warlocks. :)
