You charge at full speed into the men in front of you, knife and torch at the ready. Using the technique you learned earlier you counter balance the knife and put your full force into a stab at the man in the middle once you see him move into a position to stop you. You feel as though your attack has connected, but before you quite realise what's happening you feel a sharp pain in your side and see the one to your left punctured your flesh. In a panicked frenzy you being slashing wildly at the men around you but they fall back out of your reach. The darkness closes in on you and you fall unconscious.

Your eyes snap open and you look around you. You are outside and the sky is a dark, bloody shade of red. A finger of smoke rises from the horizon, the sun trying desperately to shine past it but failing. The grass you are lying on is bright green, but a few feet out it turns grey like soot. Looking further up into the sky you can see a great fire burning, hovering hundreds of feet in the air and large enough to engulf a whole village. You sit up and try to understand exactly what is happening. You fail.
