Does Thunt explain backstory stuff in his forums or something? According to the wiki, Mr. Fingers was from a kid's nightmares. A demon fixed the problem by removing the monster from the nightmares and making it real.

All that to say "oh boy, maybe we're about to see what other monsters those nightmares contained."
