Dude.

This is Goblins.

All this means is that something horrible is going to happen to someone we actually like.

Yes, this is fundamentally true, but if I'm gauging the tone correctly, we are in the "plaza/sewers barely scrape out a win" segment, not the "finger demon pyrrhic victory" segment.

I could be wrong and everyone may be fucked tho'.

Nah, you see, what's gonna happen is Kore is gonna get his shit kicked in for a bit, then figure out the statue's gimmick and manage to aquire control of it for his four rounds.

Unhappiness ensues.

Updoot! Kore's head appears to be glowing underneath his helmet, which is interesting.

Also turns out the author's trans, which kinda explains that breakdown in 2014. She's changing her name to Ellipsis, or Elle for short I think? Anyhow, good on her for that.

Link for posterity.

Looking like Kore has realized what's going on, which means this is where the fun begins.

And we get to see more of why Kore wears that helmet - his face seems to be made of smaller, screaming faces.

Ha, yeah, was just going to point that out too. Now, the souls on his "Paladin wings" didn't have fangs like that, right? So it doesn't look like it's the same thing. But maybe related?

Also. Maybe they should have let the guy who is most proficient in bare-handed combat start the fist fight. I'm just saying.

I don't know what magical doping Kore has been doing, but that dude just flat-out violated the lifting limits.  Based on the assumption that the golem is roughly medium-sized, it's got to weigh over a thousand pounds, he'd need better than a 26 in strength to do that, not impossible, but really unlikely.

Also, based on said doping I retract my previous analysis, they'd better run, or he's just flat out going to wreck them.
