Hello, I am new to the forums, but returning to DF after a long absence.

On to the actual topic. I have been using Dwarf Therapist to evaluate roles and assign labors. I have created custom grid views, roles, and professions and they all work as expected. I am having issues though with some of the information in the dwarf details and info tip. Some of the custom roles I have created I am using exclusively instead of the vanilla roles but the vanilla roles still show up in the top X lists in those places. I know I can redefine the vanilla role by creating a custom role with the same name but it will still leave the others I am not using show up. ie, I am combining Miner and Engraver into Stone Cutter, which can result in
a dwarf's top 3 roles being Miner, Engraver, Stone Cutter or if I had redefined Miner then Engraver, Miner, Something instead
of Stone Cutter, Something, Something.

The best method I have found so far is to redefine the vanilla roles with only Alchemist skill enabled and Disliking Alcohol. This has the effect of having all dwarves being 50% suitable for the role. So what I want to know is if there is an easier way to accomplish removing the vanilla roles from those places or if there is any way to lower the suitability such that it will always be closer to zero than I already have it?

I have looked over the options and skimmed the 3rd/4th party manual but I didn't see any information on this, I apologize if i just missed it. Thanks in advance.

50% is the best you'll be able to do with the way the role ratings are calculated. there currently isn't any way to remove or ignore roles from showing up in the tooltips nor the dwarf details dock.

if it only showed custom roles (option based) would that resolve the issue for you?

Thanks for the confirmation on 50% being the lowest I will be able to get, I currently have it set up like that. I am pretty sure I didn't see an option to show only custom roles in the options menu, but that would definitely work. I am using the 20.6.6 version, that I got from following the links through the wiki so I might need to update.

Also thanks for maintaining the program it's very helpful.

no that's the latest released version. the option i asked about doesn't exist (yet), i just wanted to confirm that such a solution would meet your needs before any implementation.

i've been toying around with this a bit, but i've ended up with something slightly different. rather than hiding all the default roles, i've just modified the sorting so that your custom roles will always show first (optionally of course), and then the default roles. this way you get the best of both worlds, and if you still really don't want default roles showing you can still accomplish it by setting the max shown roles = custom role count.

I imagine that would work just fine. It essentially ends up what it would have been like if I could have managed to drop the roles to zero except I wouldn't need to mess with the roles and I could still get information from them.
