You are drifting along a current.

You can't see.
You can't hear.
You can't smell.
You can only feel.

Technically, you are not breathing.
You are absorbing the oxygen in the water as it passes by you.
You do not have a mouth.

You can not move.
You are little more than a single celled organism.

But you can evolve.

E.V.O.
Necessity is the Mother of Invention

Sign up Sheet:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

When you evolve your creature, try to be as specific as possible. There are many ways a creature can look and function, and diversity is useful.

Nothing in the game will give a straight +x to actions, it is all based on what you're going up against. You may get a +1 against one type of creature, but not against another, depending on varying circumstances.

The game will use 10 sided-dice. Overshoots on 10.

Species Name: Elephant
Color: Grey
Starting Evolutions:
  Trunk-mouth
  Eye-tusks
  Elephant hoof things

Also, if it's using a d10, it's technically not an RTD.

Species Name: Puttle
Color: A greenish, vomit-like color.
Starting Evolutions: A star shaped proboscis for ingesting foodstuffs, Capable of sensing electric fields, Capable of discharging electric energy for small amount of movement.

Roll to Dodge simply means it uses a Die for rolling. The size does not matter, and people have actually made entire classification systems for RtDs that include non D6 rolling methods, and even non-dice methods of obtaining results.
So yes, it's still a RtD.

One question: do we start out as prokaryotes or eukaryotes? This is rather important, to be honest.

Species Name: Noxoplasm
Color: Navy
Starting Evolutions:
- has a thick cell wall formed out of peptidoglycan.
- possesses a set of fimbria that allow it to attach to various substrates.
- can form tough endospores. can perform oxygenic photosynthesis.

Another question: is absorbing chemicals through our cell membranes something we automatically have?

Species Name: Kraill
Color: Pale blue (or whatever blue stands out enough to be easily visible)
Starting Evolutions:
-Flagellum surrounding half of the cell (opposite the mouth), allowing it to propel itself around and giving it rudimentary temperature and chemical sensing.
-Short proboscis on one end of the cell to absorb nutrients.
-Longer (barbed?) flagellum surrounding the proboscis that have evolved to latch onto other cells and pull them in to the proboscis.

(the above evolutions are probably ridiculous and inaccurate, but ah well)
I can't wait until we evolve to the point where I sort of know what's what.

Color: Cyan
Starting Evolutions: Mouth-Eyes-Jet (A body part that absorbs water, and shoots it out behind, creating a rocket-like way of propulsion.

It's a bit more complex than that...but yeah, I've run RtD's with d10's and stuff.

Pretty much everyone is already multicellular, so eukaryote.

Pretty much everyone is already multicellular, so eukaryote.

Well, I was asking because...

You are little more than a single celled organism.

Or are we multicellular?

Species name: Forlane
Color: Orange.
Starting Mutations:
Ocelli (light-sensitive spots), Pulsation (for movement, jellyfish style), and a small hole for ingestion of nutrients.

Most of these have 2-3 (underlined) adaptations that don't work on cells. Although...how does a jawed, organed animal have pseudopodes?

Moreover...
You can spend these on evolving your creature into whatever you can feasibly get it to. For starters, though, you'll want some way of ingesting food. Mouths are traditional for this. After that, some basic sensory organs never hurt anyone, or methods of movement.
Mouths and sensory (and other) organs only apply to multicellular organisms.
