I'll help out with the killing stuff. Haven't done much adventurer mode though, so it might be a lot more of me dying then of other entities. Also I'll be bold and sign up for the after the gods fortress, and see just what terrible creations people decide to throw at us.

Now that the version is here, should we start now (with the save being carried up through the versions) or wait for a bugfixed version?

Either way it is decided, we might as well iron out a couple details:
1) What is the race that is going to survive the end of the world?
2) What is the map going to look like?  We will be using perfect world so as to get the terrain the same, but should it be many islands, one main island, region covered in mountains, pocket, small, large, etc.

We probably don't want the map to be too big. I generated a large world with 1050 years of history when the new release came out, and it lists the population as
Quote
Civilized World Population

   181243 Dwarves
   162366244 Humans
   41435 Elves
   207062 Goblins
   3217 Kobolds

   Total: 162799201

and since I would like to see this finished in the next century I think we'll want a type of world that produces a slightly smaller number. I might do some experimentation to see what other world sizes produce. I'm also not quite sure where these numbers are coming from, the populations of the sites do not seem to be large enough to add up to the ridiculous numbers I'm seeing for total population.

Small to pocket, I think.

I ran a basic 'Create new world' with a 250 year history on a small world with the highest number of civilizations, it totaled up to the 7-8 thousand range in terms of living population.

Small to pocket, I think.

I would personally say small, since the pocket doesn't give enough room for all the civilizations, while small does.

Still need to answer question 1, and an agreement of world size, history, and general appearance of the latter.

For 1, I would say dwarves so as to be able to start sooner.  For 2, I say small with a 150 year history, all land in a region with a large ocean in it with a moderately sized island in it.

Sure.

Dwarves or Humans would be fine. Are we still going to do some light modding?

The light modding was to make whatever race we chose playable.  If we use dwarves, then for the first world, there won't be any modding needed.

I'm fine with the world size you suggested and dwarves. I mean if I think of which race is most likely to survive the end of the world it's obviously the dwarves.

Heck, the mountain halls are dug deep enough that they could qualify as survival bunkers as they are.

Spoiler: How's this for a map? (click to show/hide)
